I don’t believe that exactly. Biden’s age was one, what a lot of voters said they were concerned about and two, very obvious, especially obvious, to a profession whose medium of exchange is talking to each other while other people watch.
Harris has done good, but a lot of it is that Harris did change the trajectory of the race which results in a lot of good press. There’s been a few pieces by elites in the press corp about how Harris isn’t doing substantive interview, how she needs to lay out a policy agenda ‘quickly’, etc. That’s the press corp asking for their pound of flesh. They want those one on one sit downs, those policy discussions so that they have some material.
My guess is to keep the good vibes going she’s going to be doing some sit down interview probably with the NYT since they, for whatever reason, this a sit down interview is a key to cozying up to them. Biden didn’t do it and they were comically butt hurt about it.
Yah the press is mostly garbage but Biden getting thrown off the ticket had 100% to do with the fact that he’s a diminished, withered old man who humiliated himself on national television with mouth agape.
Yeah, but it could have been different if the lead up to the debate had been all “Here is all the good stuff Biden has accomplished” instead of “Here are all the times Biden shows his age.” The Biden was sick narrative might have worked. It would have been nice if the media had made more out of the batshit crazy Trump was spewing at all his rallies. He’s close to offering Hannibal Lector HUD chair.
