My new home away from home.
The bane of my mixed game tournament life is guys who play razzy bad three-card eights in stud/8 and back into a ridiculous high despite a lot of unfavorable dead cards.
I might check out trooper Thursday
Digital check in and digital keys are awesome. Not awesome is having to stand in line anyways to set up parking.
My personal hell.
AirPods were made for this scenario.
The poker sucked but I got a lot of enjoyment from the people. I’ll do a whole write up when I’m sober and home but here was a key highlight.
Republican OMC - “Let me ask you a question. Don’t feel bad if you can’t answer it because I know your generation likes to think they know everything. What is the filibuster?”
I mean what kind of layup question is that? He obviously doesn’t know I spent 30 hours a week on a political forum. I felt a little insulted so I gave him one back. I asked “Who is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court?” He had no idea which really just made the whole trip worth it. I then gleefully chugged a Long Island before losing my stack all in pre.
Buddy just got here from Seattle and he brought a Fremont BBA stout we enjoyed overlooking the fountain show. Off to Sportsbook before dinners at Momofuku
Bravo!
IRL dunks are the sweetest of dunks.
These are incredibly dumb people who idiocracy look like it aimed far too low for its satire.
Ignorance is a feature, not a bug to these folks. Of course their manipulators are counting on this and reinforce it every step of the way.
easiest over ever.
I think it’s impressive the amount of time I spend on a political forum and how little political knowledge I retain.
I failed at photos but Momofuku was awesome. Had about 10 courses.
I can feel the excitement building. I leave for Vegas on Sunday.
Can any of you guys there comment on the overall cab/uber/lyft shortage? I typically used lyft there. Staying a mile off strip it was pretty nice to be able to get a ride to most strip casinos for about $10, and the car was there within minutes. I am mentally prepared to walk it to the strip if needed, but that can be pretty brutal in the heat, not to mention taking me through some areas that make me a bit nervous. I can cab it if necessary, but they were always more expensive and took longer to show up, and I heard they are short as well.
My buddy got in at 5 pl and it was a $58 Uber. He cabbed it for $20
Do not walk it. You will die.
Yardbird in Venetian for Fried Chicken.
Yes do not walk from the airport to the strip. Somehow McCarran on a map is like next door to the MGM but I swear it’s like 27 miles.
Same with the Vegas strip. It must be all the stopping and waiting for traffic and criss crossing the strip, but I’m a damn fast walker and I swear walking from MGM to Wynn (like 2 miles) takes me like an hour and a half.
I walked from Caesars to Rio during WSOP one year. It’s a lot farther than it looks.
Trooper Thursday plus Superbook Karaoke. Apparently, I am a fucking good singer.
