I don’t like it. I’ve been 3 times only because of the world class rock climbing at red rocks canyon. I’ve never placed a bet or played a hand of poker, and really have only gone into the city to drink and eat.
Awesome. So glad you enjoyed the show! I agree it is phenomenal, but I’m sometimes worried to recommend it because I’m not sure if it’s universally appreciated or if it’s too weird for some people.
Breakfast and shuffleboard while we wait on my buddy. I donked off $100 on a Buffalo slot like an idiot.
How was the dinner?
Anyone has recommendations for solo dinner, preferably close to the Venitian, not too splurgy?
I mean judging by a very large sample size it will be a sad avocado chicken salad and grand lux cafe while pondering what happened to the pep talk, but a man can dream.
You can dine solo pretty much anywhere, so it all depends on what you want for food.
I don’t really like it either, but I convinced my parents to do a 4-day trip at the end of July and since they’re ballers (read: idiots) who lose 5 figures each year at slots/video poker they can easily get me a free room. I’ve tried to get them to visit me a million times in CDMX or Puerto Vallarta, but they won’t, so I’ll have to go to one of the few destinations they’ll actually consider.
I don’t think I’d ever go on my own, especially b/c it seems super expensive again now, unless there was a damn good reason like WSOP or a good friend’s bachelor party.
I love to travel, but don’t really like the places that only exist for tourists. I don’t like Cancun or Los Cabos in Mexico either.
Tulum is like Cancun but with the Rich Kids of Instagram cosplaying as hippies. WOAT
David Chang’s Moon Palace across from Majordomo at Palazzo? There’s cheaper eats across the street at the mall. There’s a food court at Grand Canal Shoppes and in Venetian.
Yah, I’ve heard it’s awful now. F Instagram.
My favorite solo venture was eating at the bar at opening when the place is empty. Any place that doesn’t have dedicated seatings.
Why? I know the consensus for solo dining is eating at the bar is preferred, but I never felt that way. I assume it’s because I am bad at starting/maintaining conversations with strangers
Eating at the bar often gets you seated faster and your order comes quicker.
It’s basically impossible to get on a poker table on the strip right now. Wait lists are huge.
I’ve played tons of home game PLO but never in a casino. Hope the swongs go your way
Because they will seat you immediately and serve you quickly. You’re not taking up a table, and can concentrate on a phone or paper. Early and not busy is key. It’s the quiet before the storm for the kitchen. Plus single diners tip better.
Edit: Now if I’m going for a full dinner experience, I’ll get a table for 1 without a second thought
I’m sitting between a trump supporter and a yang supporter. Take a guess how this is going?
I kind of wish I was in your seat.
I’m guessing they’re going to team up and kill you.
