What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas. Except Threesomes.

Play 50-100 play video poker to build up points if your really going that route. It’s definitely not worth it if you get zero enjoyment out of slots, but if you’re going to grind for rooms, that’s the play.

do you know a good tutorial on how to play optimal video poker?

All the tables at wizard of odds are GTO I believe. I stick to double double bonus and can play it on auto pilot. I think 9/6 jacks or better with a certain progressive is the most EV, but I’ve never looked too much into it.

Yes but these have watchers like everything in life, stick to the big casinos like Aria & you should get a better chance.

I could have sworn that years ago there was a WPT ft where Mike Sexton told an anecdote about a player at the table.

Iirc the player was a mathematician. The story was that he had targeted a slot machine at a non casino venue by analyzing the numbers and played that same machine for a month straight and hit a multi million dollar jackpot.

I told this story at a live underground game and met lots with of skepticism.

Granted, my memory is hazy on recall but is this scenario plausible?

There’s a story I’m trying to find about a guy finding a flaw with certain firmwares of the standard video poker machine. He was able to maximize his bet after the deal maybe? Can’t remember exactly. I feel like there was a NYT story about it, but all I can find is this story about guys beating the old card craps that is down the street from me.

Just re-read it, and it’s still an awesome read.

Did you guys ever read the one about the old couple that found out some US lottery was +ev if they bought a ton of tickets? Was a super long read but one of my favorite stories of the last ~5 years.

Boyd gives crap points for video poker. They tied it to the theoretical loss. I think you need over $80k coin in at 9/6 JOB to get the 750 tier points needed to get to their second level. Otherwise, I’d grind VP.

i just played pretend ddb and lost a fake grand. rigged

At 1:30 pm on October 6, 2009, a dozen state and local police converged on Andre Nestor’s split-level condo on a quiet, tree-lined street in Swissvale. He was dozing on his living room couch when the banging started. “State police! Open up!” The battering ram hit the door seconds later, splintering the frame and admitting a flood of cops into the house.

Nestor says he started toward the stairs, his hands over his head, when he came face-to-face with a trooper in full riot gear. “Get on the floor!” yelled the trooper, leveling his AR-15 at Nestor’s face. Nestor complied. The cop ratcheted the handcuffs on Nestor’s wrists, yanked him to his feet, and marched him into the kitchen.

Seems like a proper response for dangerous video poker players who click buttons in an illegal order.

I have no doubts about who put in the flaw, lol it was a glitch alough I do believe this dude just happened to find a machine that was sitting on a jackpot hand when he changed stakes.

Maybe one of our programmers will feel differently but I’m of the opinion that it was indeed the original programmer himself who put in the back door.

There’s glitches that could be a malfunction but I believe that’s not one of them.

I remember reading the article that you are talking about. Long read. Can’t find now though.

That’s the 1st time I’ve known it was an IGT machine and let’s say it’s no surprise…

They bought some bad apple’s.

Wow, that’s awesome.

I remember reading a similar story about a dude in Canada (IIRC) who figured out a way that he could tell which scratch off tickets would pay off and so he could only buy those tickets and make a lot of money. He wrote to the people responsible for running the lottery and told them of the flaw. He didn’t even try to make money himself.
