After the hockey player busted, the guy next to us told us who the hockey player was and that the hockey guy had written a great book about his concussions that we should read.
Huh?
I have not played a single hand of poker since the 2021 WSOP. I need to get back into it.
I’d worry you’re out of practice, but shit posting on the Internet is the perfect way to keep your skills hot.
Thursday!!!’
I’m going to be in Vegas briefly Sunday June 23 - Tuesday June 25. Anybody in town that wants to slurp noodles at Shang with me?
I’ll be out there during those dates!
My TR thread for this year is up in Las Vegas Lifestyle on the old site.
I gave you a shout out, and I’m DETERMINED to make it over there this year!
Read the TR, as far as the potentially moving you consider much on the approach of walking in with resume vs more traditional seeking some sort of transfer internally or applying to one those places certain job openings online? Just wonder how the in person route of rolling up to the clinic would come across?
I’ve been to Vegas and come home to take care of some stuff. I should go back soon and I’m contemplating getting there early enough to participate in Day 1D of the Gladiators shit show. Thoughts?
Well, let’s get together late afternoon or evening on Sunday June 23rd and have some noodles? I’ll have wheels so can pick you up, and I’m staying at the Orleans so might work out for you to check out the poker room there too.
I don’t want to apply internally or online because I don’t want my current clinic to know I’m thinking about leaving.
I also want to go in person to check out each clinic myself, and see where I think I’d find the best fit.
Once I get my resume in front of some clinic managers, if their staffing is anything like ours, it’ll get fast tracked to the regional ops director. If they give me an offer after the interview, they’ll want me to work wherever their staffing is most precarious. I want to put my eyes on each possible clinic, and scope out the lay of the land for myself.
That should work!
That weekend is the Millionaire Maker, but if I play it, it’ll probably be flight A or B. Flight C is Sunday the 23rd, so I should have that open.
I lost my wallet, so I have no ID in Vegas and can’t enter tournaments. I guess I can play cash games. Anybody out here who wants to hang out? I do have a car.
Nobody at home that can overnight you a passport?
That sucks. Need a BBV4L thread here.
Nope. I can still play cash and I think I have ways to access my resort credit without ID, so all is not lost.
Dumb question -
I watched a few mins of someone playing high stakes slot machines in Vegas. The slot machine had some bonus feature that kicks in once you accumulated 100 “purple badges” or some shit.
I assume reaching that bonus round is a huge part of the payoff of the machine.
But since its accumulated and most people just stop playing when they run out of money, cant you just replace someone close to the bonus?
Im obv missing something in how it works
You’re correct. There’s actually quite a few “advantage play” machines that you can scout and give yourself an edge. The problem is lots of people on casino floors know how to scout them and it also requires people running out of money and leaving machines that are closer to hitting a bonus.
Yep, slot hustling is pretty common. I’ve known a few people who do it. One guy is banned from a local casino (he used his players card while doing it). Supposedly it’s pretty low variance too. They use the term “ploppies” to describe players who leave machines like this. Exactly which machines have features like this, and more importantly, when a feature reaches a level that is +EV, can be hard to know, as people who find this aren’t usually willing to share. But if you just know the machines and then watch them, you’ll see people in the casino walking around from slot to slot checking them to see if they’re worth playing.
That sounds surprisingly easy and profitable. Also the casino shouldnt care much cause that money is going out of the machine either way
