What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas. Except Threesomes.

o yeah it’s awful. there are only 32 combinations of a 7 card SF with no joker out of 150+ million total 7 card combinations. It’s insanely rare to see that’s why our dealer was freaking out, he said he’d been dealing for 15+ years and never seen one.

my buddy basically hit a true jackpot and got nothing to show for it :harold:

Texas holdem poker table on the floor pays 500:1 for flopping a royal flush.

Floor gambling is insane.

I got paid 50:1 for hitting quad aces in a 5 card hand while playing some game in 1997. Never played another table game after that.

I’ve found some really cheap flights to Vegas for mid-January, so I’m thinking of taking a trip. This would be my first exclusively-gambling trip in a really long time. What’s the poker action like Downtown? Seems like not much except a little at the Nugget. Or where in general do you guys think I’d have a good time? I’m looking for a decent room, I guess in the cheap-moderate range where getting from one casino to another is pretty easy. Cheap table-games are a plus too. Are there any diamonds in the rough Downtown?

a long ass time ago they had $1 blackjack down there

The Nugget is the only poker room downtown. It is uncapped 1/2, sometimes a great game with deep stacks, sometimes a passive reg-fest. Super easy to go from casino to casino on Fremont because they are small. Table game minimums are lower than the Strip. Some of the casinos have old and dated hotel rooms. Everything except the Nugget and Circa is modestly priced.

I spend some time down there on longer trips and might be there in January. Happy to answer questions about specific properties.

Thanks. Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of. I’ve stayed at South Point my last few trips and have enjoyed it. But I’ll be going there again in 2024, so was hoping for something a little different. The more things change, the more they stay the same, I guess. The Orleans is kind of been-there-done-that. The Rio was fantastic back in the early 90’s before they expanded, but I know that’s changed a ton. I guess the truth is that the poker action is as good or better where I live, here in Florida, than it is in Vegas. That wasn’t always the case.

My guess is the games are goodat the Nugget Jan 8-12 when the Moose International has a poker tournament there. Definitely has some very casual players who might play in a casino poker room once a year.

I’m staying at the D downtown the first week of January. I can provide a TR afterwards.

Also happy to break bread or smoke a cigar if anybody is in town the same time.

I like The D.

The D looks like a good suggestion. I stayed there once when it was Fitzy’s. I remember I was sick as a dog on that trip, but I doubt that will happen again as I’ve been vaxxed for flu and covid. Looks like I can get a round trip from Florida and five nights S-Th for about $800 total which isn’t bad at all. Thanks guys.

I am at a table with Marsha Waggoner.

Oh hey, tell her I said whats up. She’ll remember me

$10k probably isn’t enough to be honest, even for normal tickets and rooms.

General admission standing room tickets seem to be around 500, grandstand tickets over 2k and hotel room ridiculous. My offers were over 800/night for Excalibur and around 3k for Bellagio.

Yeah it depends if you want just race night or all the qualifier days as well. It’s going to be absurd.

i got this “offer” from venetian for just 10k before taxes.

Enjoy 3 nights in The Venetian tower, plus two tickets to the FORMULA 1 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX. Packages are priced for double occupancy and include three-day passes to the Grandstands near the MSG Sphere. Take in the action Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights: practice, qualifying and the race down the Las Vegas Strip. These passes also include food and non-alcoholic beverages at the race. After, take in the amenities that our all-suite resort offers, including plenty of space to entertain or unwind.

My MGM offer for 2 three-day grandstand tickets plus fountain view room Nov 16-19 is 11098.

$800 / night for me at Aria that weekend. Virtually every other day is comp for the year.
