Nieri is a nice player. He has some very bizarre, pretty unheard of track that charges tempo and possibly time signature. I link to it later
yeah. ive seen a few players use something similar. it seems like several different techniques, depending on the line/ phrase
There’s a cool Rush documentary from 2010, Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage on Netflix. Not sure if you can get it but I highly recommend.

There is a pretty successful rush tribute band is Wisconsin. Keep waiting for them to get within a few hours of me so I can go see them.
