Coming in at #16 for 2 points is @microbet with Led Zeppelin and Since I’ve Been Loving You (1990 remaster)
This may be sacrilege to some, but the led is not a band that ever resonated with me. Kinda like pesto, I should like it. But I don’t. This opus coming in at over 7 minutes is a good reminder for me as to why. It takes 1:15 for the lyrics to start and despite the musicianship, it’s not a replay for me.
This was one of my picks for a previous walrus and Chris had the sense to rate it very highly, calling it iirrc “A stone cold classic”, which is what it is.

A little surprised that this may be considered the only New Wave that was submitted for this category and is an excellent example of the genre. Some have called this song one of the “greatest new wave ballads ever.” I don’t hate it but it feels as dated as sounds and doesn’t bring me to a place now (or then) that’s interesting to me.
Coming in at #14 for 4 points is @seities with Pure Reason Revolution and The Intention Craft
I think I put this as high as I did because it was produced in this century and I hadn’t heard it before. But this could have easily come in further down the list. This is like wedding band gone wild. The dual (gender) vocals are as non-committal and jumbled as the rest of the composition. Rock song gone wrong.
Lucky #13 is good for 5 points for @CanadaMatt3004 and Emile Sande with Heaven
Nothing wrong with this really. Strong vocals. Good hook… except I forgot it as soon as it was over. To my uneducated ears, it sounds like a million other songs of this flavor that has been produced in the past 20 years. It’s just like something played on z100 just long enough for me to flip past.
Rounding out our top dozen for 6 points is @JohnnyTruant and Brand New Heavies (feat. Grand Puba) with Who Makes the Loot
I mentioned in an earlier reveal that hip-hop wasn’t my thing. Despite this, a lot of music in this genre has done pretty well in my walruses. This isn’t one tho. As the song is playing, flip to anywhere on the timeline and see if you notice a change. The song is a perfect circle. But not a perfect song.
In at #11 for 7 points is @Habsfan09 with The Bee Gees and Words
As can describe most of the Bee Gees catelogue, here is another beautiful song with amazing vocals that could have easily come in the top 10. But I got tired of dumping on pyatnitski so this is the song that took the bullet for one spot. Just kidding. Sort of. Actually, the internet tells me these guys were born on the Isle of Man and then family moved to Auzzieland fairly young in life. So bonafides are questionable too.
