13 points for seities with Lungs by Townes Van Zandt
good lookin’ fella with a name to match! wowzer. Dunno what the lyrics mean, but the melancholy feels good. He’s humble and it’s endearing.

Woooo highest finish yet!
ok just outside the podium! is this track that starts out with a nice drumbeat, then does well with the guitar voicings that constitute the 1st riff and take the feeling of the song in a direction. Rockin’ stuff.
The vocal melody isn’t inspired enough though, a missed opportunity imo.
with 14 points is Christophe Dugarry! and The Bright Light Social Hour - Infinite Cities
15 points for Lacazette with “Executioner’s Tax (Swing of the Axe)” by Power Trip
Nice and angry and churning. Get running. It’s simple, but it has a point to make, and it succeeds. This would be a good song for some cardio motivation.
Go on and look at you!
16 for Louis and Turn it Up by Texas Hippie Coalition
Another no-frills, kick-you-straight-in-the-ass good time. Comedy, too.
One night at Vinnie’s clubhouse
She heard some Texas music
She started dancin’ sexy and takin’ clothes off to it
There’s an obvious Prince reference later in the song.
It rocks, so I like it. I’m a simple man.
RIP Abbott brothers.
And now with all the possible points, microlimitov with Walk by Pantera
The last passage of this song is so sick, that it just dwarfs all pretenders in the cold eclipse of its shadow.
This category-5 reveal is over
Walk on home, boys and girls!
I liked On and On a lot, might have been on my podium. I also like my submission a lot, obviously. While it’s true that the vocal melody is simple, I like the harmonies they introduce during that “staaaaay” in the chorus.
I was going to penalise Walk for obviousness. Most popular song by the biggest Texas metal band of all time.
Edit: I liked Turn It Up too. Executioner’s Tax not so much, not keen on the vocals. Very Megadeth vibe to that.
Oh damn, nice pick micro! I had no idea Pantera were from Texas. Going to spin up a Pantera playlist to listen to this evening.
Thanks for the Friday night entertainment, Mr Revealdo!
lol now I feel like even more of an idiot…
That last riff, though, and how they slightly reset it @ approximately 4:31 via whatever device lol because it emerges out the other side pretty much the same, earns it an immunity from any other factor
I really enjoyed Lungs and Infinite Cities. Nice reveal Riv!
YES!
Dunno if this is a brag or not, but I’ve been to a couple Pantera shows - back in the early 90s, right after Vulgar Display of Power came out.
and the videography, too, of that last bit from about when he assumes the Jesus Christ pose
unreal
lol Anselmo has the finger in the air like #1. Goat
Phil knows what they achieved
I’m listening to the Stevie Ray now - man that guy could play.
of course it’s a brag jfc. Don’t let the forces arrayed against us cause you doubt lol
the bass part after 4:31 changes, that’s the reset lol I think
Is anyone keeping score? If not I’m claiming victory now and forever!
