Epic – Old Guys are Ready to Rock the Mic

Now we move on to entries that I really enjoyed, I found it very hard to spit the remaining entries, so whoever submitted this has the right to feel hard done to.
Comments on this were turned off on youtube, and I had a hard time finding any information on Epic on google, so this is a fairly uniformed take, but I liked the loopy bluesy feel, and the lyrics were pretty witty. A good listen

That’s a decent song but I hate it whenever I hear the fake record needle noise on any song. It wasn’t supposed to be there on vinyl, no need to artificially edit it to digital tracks.

Mine and I don’t feel hard done by. Wasn’t sure it would translate for someone who didn’t grow up in Saskatchewan.

I can’t say for sure but the record noise may be real. These guys had their own label and pressed their own records.

Elvis Costello - 45

Submitter

From Wikipedia:
“45” is a song from Elvis Costello’s 2002 album When I Was Cruel, written by Costello. The second single released from the album, it reached number 92 in the UK charts. To date, it is his last single to chart.

I have submitted two, (criminally undermarked) Elvis tracks to Walri, and this one proves the great man still has it.
Great voice, great lyrics, a master craftsman at work

I’ve added to my playlist, and I’m going to explore their back catalogue. It’s what Walrus is all about for me

That one is mine. I was looking through songs from 2002 and found something that went straight into a playlist.

Well, still had it back when one of our number was born.

Holy hell, @nano was born 12 years later than my youngest child. I need a lie down

Kamikaze Sex Pilots - Sharon’s been deflowered

Decided to some digging and found this song by Kamikaze Sex Pilots. The band lasted for less than two years and this song was released on an album called “Obscure Independent Classics 1985-1987”. Later, some of their music was on an album by a band called Vital Disorders in 2014. Whether that was produced in 2014 or 30 years before is unclear to me.

Haha - I’m a sucker for this sort of nonsense. I’m actually really surprised I had never heard it before, The only complaint I have about this is that it should have been a maximum of 2 minutes 30 seconds long, in which case it may have well won

I can only imagine @seities listening to this and shaking his head in disbelief

Great opening line, love this.

It’s taking a lot of restraint to not hurl my laptop out the window I have to say…

She’s been deflowered, she’s been defoliated oh yeah!

I’m listening again and I think I genuinely think I might have placed it too low
