Walrus Grab Bag 4 Reveal

i mean this is all crap, but sending a song that is technically eligible for your category, is a song i actually like and would score 1 point was literally the goal of this.

Yeah, I was just adding this to my post:

Edit - Although thinking again I think you’re right. I would have figured that you saw a loophole and really annoyed me. But that’s because I’m too polite.

I actually said " straying from the boundaries of the category will count against you". You got a lucky because I moved it up when I initially had it much lower for that reason.

In 6th place, scoring 7 points:
R Dean Taylor - There’s a Ghost in my House

Trolling seities - its a great song - it fits the category - pretty sure he would hate it

I like this song and seities gave my Dusty Springfield submission last place, so there must be some transitive property that suggests this song would also nodium the category.

These troll songs are pretty good.

This one isn’t too bad. I can see why someone would like it and therefore it shouldn’t be nodium material me thinks.

In 5th place, scoring 8 points:
DC Talk - My Friend (So Long)

Trolling militant atheist CanadaMatt with a Christian rock group. I should hate it too for the same reason, but it’s actually catchy as shit. CanadaMatt couldn’t bring himself to score this well though, even if he liked it.

Trolling an atheist with Christian music seems a bit…easy. This is the submission I most enjoy as a song, but that isn’t the main criteria. Still, that puts it ahead of most straight-forward trolling where I don’t like the song as much.

Man I want to see somebody try to troll me in walrus

I’ll happily take a 5th on a category I was completely clueless on how to handle.

I was completely clueless in how to judge this at times and I occasionally regretted that I may have trolled myself by making this harder than it needed to be. That’s why it took me so damn long to reveal.

In 4th place, scoring 9 points:
Laibach – Tanz Mit Laibach

Before you read the rest, watch the video.

Any questions? I am pretty sure superuberbob isn’t expecting someone in a fascist uniform yelling at him in German about Hitler and Mussolini.

Anyway, it’s also a imho a great meta submission because Laibach are the original musical trolls. See:

“Laibach” is(…) an oblique reference to the Nazi occupation of Slovenia in World War II.

(…)subject to controversies and bans due to their elaborate use of iconography with ambiguously repugnant parodies and pastiches of elements from totalitarianism, nationalism and militarism(…)

Censored and banned in Socialist Yugoslavia and receiving a kind of dissident status, (…)

(…)sending intentionally ambiguous messages (…) accused of both far left and far right political stances

What more can a troll ask for?

There’s a chance that superuberbob actually likes this song, which is why it isn’t higher, but I find the meta troll argument very compelling. Y’all should have written longer comments about your songs.

The podium has all songs where I dare you to listen to them multiple times in a row. Making you do that might violate international law.

It wouldn’t have nodiumed.

Can’t say I hate it, but yeah this is a nodium for me for sure.

Pharmakon – Milkweed/It Hangs Heavy

Trolling Eyebooger

Experimental/avantgarde shit seems like an inherently trolly genre. It’s 7 minutes long and I don’t even want to listen to all of it to judge this song. Luckily, I have a category where I don’t feel compelled to listen to this song multiple times to see if it grows on me. I mean, I did listen it once all the way through, but afterwards, I’d open it up and go “yeah, it’s that song” and close it.

I’ll take it! (It’s a good song!).

Didn’t you win a pyatnitski category with this artist?
