Mfw I outscore my entire previous Walrus in one pick.
I Don’t Mind was really good too.
Happy with a podium.
Yeah this is great, but I thought a lot of her stuff would be a category miss. I figured “Paper Planes” has 20 million views so I can also appeal to a higher court.
Buzzcocks was me. I’ll take a “podium” happily
Hair metal pop songs tho?

Soft Cell - Tainted Love
As everyone knows it’s better to be lucky than good. Which isn’t to say this isn’t good—it’s fantastic—it’s just this is a song that had largely passed me by until very recently. I’d heard it of course, but I was too young when it came out and I guess I’d just never really quite paid attention.
Then, literally a few months back, I heard it somewhere played very loud and it struck me that it’s brilliant. Incredibly tight, sparse but catchy music, and a really great vocal performance. Now, as part of this playlist, it just rose higher and higher until the wave crashed here.
That’s a classic and a good pick w/e it was.
Tainted Love is an awesome pick. I had 12inch version which did a fantastic segway into Where did our love go.
Just me and @Jalfrezi left? The young, hungry, some say devilishly handsome up and comer against the grizzled, battle-hardened veteran? No my hands aren’t sweating stop looking at them
For no reason at all I am guessing it was not mjiggy.
Great submission. Added to my playlist.
I feel grizzled too, I haven’t shaved for a week.
how dare you

The Ronettes - Be My Baby
Even second for this one feels a bit dirty, I’m getting sweaty palms typing it. I mean, it’s an amazing song, what else is there to say? I could dig deep and say that I don’t like the way they fade it down when the drummer’s doing their best work, and, if we’re talking Wall of Sound, I marginally prefer “River Deep, Mountain High”. But that’s all I’ve got, in itself it’s an incredible piece of work, and one I would have had on my short list without a doubt.
That was mine. Congrats mjiggy.
I toyed with River Deep but came down on the side of this one.
Without even knowing what the song is I am pretty impressed my the supreme confidence mjiggy had before this reveal even started.
