I see “isolation” as pretty synonymous with “loneliness.” In the category description the word quarantine was used so that probably affected what I was thinking.
I, admittedly, overthink things. If I’m binging on a song then quarantine wouldn’t dictate that in any way unless we are talking about the psychological effects of the pandemic.
I don’t define ideas like that in general(the word association example), was just using it as a demonstration of how I would not associate film noir with isolation.
I am with you on isolation ~= loneliness.
It’s always interesting to see how differently other people can associate words and/or concepts.
Tbf though Funcrusher is correct but I thought one of the whole points of Walrus is for the Walruser to troll and gaslight and angleshoot the competitors. Master did a ‘dance music’ theme and picked like hair metal to podium. He was like ‘I like to dance to hair metal’. It was fucking glorious.
I think the biggest thing that hurt me for the first two rounds(other than selecting instrumental songs in a genre that isn’t meb’s cup of tea ) is that I really only listen to music that makes me feel good emotions.
So, in category 1, when @anon29622970 said he wanted something that gets him in the feels, I didn’t even consider anything that was melancholy or feeling down. Then in category 2, during quarantine specifically and when I’m alone in general, I really only listen to songs that are uplifting(to me at least).
Are y’all listening to melancholy music during quarantine???
Can’t recommend it highly enough. Anyone posting on this forum would likely love it. Although the first two seasons will likely seem slow if starting from scratch, they’re big for character development. The show took off when Adam Scott and Rob Lowe joined the cast at the end of the 2nd season.
Same. I’ve seen maybe 10 minutes worth of clips on youtube. Amy Poehler is like Jimmy Fallon to me. I get that other people like them. But they just seem like people who are trying to be funny rather than actually being funny. IMO.
Mainly, I don’t watch much TV outside of sports and whatever episodic Food Network/HGTV/whatever stuff MrsWookie sometimes puts on. If I’m going to invest in a series, it’s probably going to be one of the major dramas I still haven’t finished, like The Wire.
