Video Games

Got a high end gaming laptop for an insane deal during cyber monday. Decided this is a good stopgap for now while I wait for good games on the ps5.

What should I play? I want a graphics feast. Thinking definitely red dead redemption PC version for sure, online will be a lot more fun when I can actually aim and kill people without dying in half a millisecond.

return it and get a PC

Lol it is a pc. Unless you mean a desktop.

I can hook it up to a big monitor with all the peripherals. My only complaint is it just has 1 usb port so I need a splitter.

Yeah I was planning on starting this but switched to Sekiro since my Discord friends were all playing and discussing it. If I knew Control was going to be such a hit on here I might have played that instead!

That said Sekiro is excellent, as others have said. I’ve been known to give up on difficult games before but yesterday I spent probably 1.5 hours on a boss who wasn’t even too bad and was ready to go another 90 minutes except I had to go to bed eventually. Also I talked to my friends and it turned out I should have been ā€œsetting upā€ for the boss fight rather than taking on a bunch of minions at once, ah well, live and die and learn.

Playing Control right now. These are some of the least uncanny valley characters I have seen. Compare this with something that’s supposed to be pretty realistic like the SuperMassive Games games and this is off the charts. 505 doing work.

Cyberpunk 2077 getting some interesting reviews. ā€œReally good but buggy as fuckā€ hmm. I was planning on picking it up on Wednesday (PC) but hard to say now. I have nothing else to do though.

I got Cyberpunk on preorder, but lol I’m not going to touch until I finish Control and all its DLC. So good.

It’s like if Beyond the Black Rainbow was a 3rd person shooter.

so if you’re looking for ps5s, theres a site called brickseek.com, where you can put in the SKU/UPC of it and see which walmarts around you have stock. I just missed trying to get one locally here by about 5 mins. I think same thing for target but targets are all online buys so not sure that helps much.

oh and it seems the site is really struggling now, i pulled it from a newsweek article so i would assume most of the public is finding out about it now.

Cyberpunk 2077. I pre-ordered and it goes live in like 2 days. I’m already regretting the time suckage. It probably isn’t near flawless but it’s probably the PC release of the year.

Played like 50 hours of Red Dead 2 and stopped. It has real strengths and significant weaknesses. I didn’t like the fact that many side quests are sociopathic murder sprees when your trying to go straight. A lot of the camp and crafting mechanics are lame. A lot of things about the game are lame, and I hope Cyberpunk avoids similar clunkyness.

Not sure why I get back into wow when I can’t dedicate the time to raid but I’m pretty sure I couldn’t do mythics. Still good though. This expansion has been fun

Sounds like it’s going to be very very buggy on release. Might want to wait a few weeks.

The online is great for me

Last Oasis looks so damn fun. I bought it and played the tutorial then watched a massive pvp fight on a Twitch stream and the big fights are laggy as hell so I refunded. I’ve been fucking around with music more lately anyway. If they fix the lag for big fights or I get really bored when winter really hits I’ll purchase maybe. A few of us could do well imo if you like survival games. I’m not super invested so whatever. I want New World beta in November they said they were doing though.

lol steam, lol cd projekt red.

GTX1080 being chewed alive by this game welp

Yeah, this might spur me to get off my ass and build a new pc. I need to anyway, my current one is several years old.

Working fine on my 5 year old i7 with a GTX 970 and 8MB RAM. 2440 x 1600. Game is a lil slow paced and dialoggy. Had one significant bug where I had to restart a mission (object didn’t scan in braindance tutorial). About 3 hrs in and mostly tutorials so far.

Same, I’ve been talking about it for a year but just started looking at stuff last week. Apparently it is impossible to buy mid-higher end GPUs right now so that sucks.

Weird I had to turn everything to medium to get it to run at ~60fps which is garbage
