I got to two BC and then started to struggle pretty hard, as I was warned to expect. I also sort of needed a break and now when I go back to it after playing a lot of Hades I suck.
lol will do. so far i only have 1 boss cell. and then iāve been playing a few runs with 0 just to beat the Giant and to get the blueprint for the speedrunnersā favorite weapon, the War Javelin.
Oooh I havenāt done that, guess I should go back and try that since he wrecked me with 1 BC.
lmao i tried to get the War Javelin and went down the wrong drop-thru floor and got stuck

I let my PS Plus lapse earlier this year but reupped for Fall Guys, which I played exactly once, so I decided to check out my library. It was honestly staggering how many great games I got through it for nominally free, even if I was a little bummed I missed Uncharted 4 and Shadow of the Colossus on my hiatus (also Rise of the Tomb Raider but I bought that for <$10 at some point). I knew that I had gotten Bloodborne, the Surge, and Shadow of War but completely forgot about Nioh, Arkham Knight, the Bioshock Collectionā¦Still looking forward to the days when I have time to mess around with this stuff, maybe even with a PS5.
If you havenāt downloaded your games this month they are Shadow of War and Hollow Knight, both excellent. Next monthās selections are kind of weak imo, Just Cause 4 (still a AAA game) and Rocket Arena.
Adorama up next:

Apparently you canāt save cc info without making a prior purchase lol.
The hawk is kinda useless in this game. Just gives you the general area and canāt identify anything. Just head to that area and do your scan thing and it will highlight your task in green.
update: got Boss Cell II tonight. ended up running it with Valmontās Whip / War Javelin / Great Owl of War. i know War Javelin kinda sucks with bosses but itās surprisingly effective at getting you away from their attacks. anyway, gave it one quick run at II, and the difficulty is significantly higher than I.
also, putting the kill-streak count on screen really helped me be more aware of how i was doing and fight more cautiously / effectively (unlike at the base difficulty, where you donāt have to worry much because you can heal and refill your flask every level).
Cool! 2BC is the traditional difficulty wall for this game, if youāre sucking do some forge runs to get your stuff to ++ all the time.
Yeah I capped out the 50% ++ forge running a bunch of 0BC games when I was trying to get easy cells and the War Javelin. Then last night I went back to 1BC and beat it on my first try, lol. 2BC def tougher but hopefully the double cells will help the forge (I can pretty reliably beat the first two bosses, if not Hand of the King yet).
Any interest in a video game draft? We did a free for all one on the old site that was fun but I was thinking something where you had to have X number of games from each era or even a bunch of different mini-snakes restricted to a specific era. Could also do console-only to limit the field a bit.
Iād be down for a Sega Master System draft.
Iām down to say that the 10th best PC game ever is better than the best console game ever
which games would those be tho
In no particular order
Starcraft, Half-Life, one of the id shooters, Ultima Online, WoW, possibly EverQuest. I donāt play the Europa style games, so the best one of those. Personal favorites Iād stan for: Star Control 2, Daggerfall. Possibly Diablo 2. This is just top of mind, Iām sure Iām missing some goats.
If I had to pick a console game that could contend, I guess Iād pick Zelda.
In no particular order, [UNDRAFTED], [UNDRAFTED], [UNDRAFTED], [UNDRAFTED], [UNDRAFTED], possibly [UNDRAFTED]. I donāt play the [UNDRAFTED] style games, so the best one of those. Personal favorites Iād stan for: [UNDRAFTED], [UNDRAFTED]. Possibly [UNDRAFTED]. This is just top of mind, Iām sure Iām missing some goats.

So thatās a no on the draft then?
Anyhow I started Sekiro last night. Wish me luck? I was saving it but a few of my discord friends started playing through it and others finished it somewhat recently so it seemed like it would be more fun to play it now and be able to discuss.
I mean, I guess I could do it, but my knowledge of console games is pretty limited post⦠uh, 1995.
Doesnāt have to be only console games, was just thinking of ways to make it less of a free-for-all. At the very least i like the idea of restricting rosters to only x number of games per time period.
I think it could be fun - at the least it might give ideas of some games I should go back and play.
