umm… congrats?

I think this was my favorite deck ever @goofyballer. Deal 20 damage and draw 2 cards per status and lots of ways to create them, massive t1 damage, and fiend fire for a million.

I’ve played a decent bit and think it’s a nice upgrade over CKII, especially in terms of the UI and graphics. I also like that they took out the randomness a bit in some elements. However, I am concerned they made some things not too easy. For instance, it’s nice that now fabricating claims is not pure random (nothing worse than having a 20% chance to fabricate a claim, but then it not popping for 20 years), but it seems too quick now. Maybe the time scales in later games, but currently I can consistently get claims in under two years.

I also really like the new army system, especially the knights. Adds more immersion when you have named guys that you recruited fighting and dying. The new rally point system is nice, as it was super frustrating when you had a huge empire and had to deal with getting your army assembled (especially guys on islands). However, again, I think they may have made it too easy. My army always assembles in a few days. I feel it would have been better for it to take the same time as before, just that it would now be automatic.

The new buildings seem big improvement as you can no longer just build them all. Not sure if there is enough difference between them to matter, as haven’t gotten beyond tier 2 buildings, but it seems like it does allow you to role play a bit (e.g. big army vs strong economy; focus on stronger cav, archers, etc.).

New system of using culture for innovations seems interesting but haven’t played enough to have true opinion. Having all the succession laws so locked away is a quite frustrating - I loved being able to groom a super-kid and then have him voted as the next ruler - but this new way is probably more realistic. Just still a bit frustrated that in my first real playthrough, when I finally got 4 counties so had a decent army, my duke died with no warning and they got split between his 4 kids, so back to being super weak.

I agree with most of this, and the general sentiment that some things seem a little too easy. Particularly the fabricating claims and raising your troops to a rally point.

Like, the bulk of my troops come from levied soldiers. Most of them are coming from across my realm. It would take them a month or two to march that far once they’re raised, but they are raised at the rally point basically immediately.

Switch put up their native SNES emulator for download. Free with a ton of games to play–if you have an online subscription. Last night was Mario Heaven for me. A Link to the Past is there. F-Zero, Demon Crest, every Kirby game under the sun

Yeah, the SNES and NES online options are pretty cool.

Not quite as cool as downloading the whole library + Neo Geo + arcade classics + Sega genesis and master system + some PS1 and Dreamcast games onto your SNES mini.

Seriously, buying one of those and learning how to mod it is one of the best gaming things I’ve ever done.

How expensive and difficult was it to mod? You’ve sold me.

Free and super easy to mod if you want to use the internal memory.

Slightly more expensive and difficult if you want to use external storage.

Reddit - Dive into anything has absolutely everything you’ll need to perform the mod

One other plus I just noticed - the AI seems a bit smarter at war. I declared on someone I was a decent bit stronger than. Took the main objective and then his army came to take it back. Tried to start battle, but he ran and hid in mountains where he would be favorite. Went to siege next castle, and then he comes down from mountains. Of course when I went back he ran back to mountains. Eventually, I had to leave half my army in the mountains and send half to siege castle. When my sieging army returned, he moved to attack it since it was weaker than his full army. I was able to win the battle once my armies combined, but just barely and took a ton more casualties.

On the downside, this war showed how broken the rally system was. My land is spread out - most on Italy mainland but then capital on tip of Sicily. I formed my army on mainland next to war goal. However, he also had a county on Sicily and formed his army there. Even if I were to have set sail immediately, he likely would have finished siege before I arrived.

I’m weird in that I’m kind of a purist, so I don’t want to mod any of my systems. I did, however, do the soft mod to an extra Wii, which is amazing. Can play pretty much every game on any system that came before it.

Yeah, I did the same thing with my Wii after the switch came out. I’m not a huge fan of any of the homebrew interfaces though, and I really enjoy the SNES controller, so I think it works better for older games on the SNES mini

This triggered a memory, did anyone else play Rock n Roll Racing for the SNES back in the day? I absolutely loved that game.

Holy crap, I looked this up. It looks like a blast.

Yea I have played with friends lately and it’s fun.

finished chapter 2 of Tell Me Why, definitely enjoying it now although the chapters feel short and sad its only 3 chapters total. Its also def a commie lib game with the topics discussed, not for MAGAs

Yeah, the main interface where you choose your system is fine (it’s just icons on the Wii menu), but then it’s just a text list of games to scroll through, which kind of sucks.

None afaik but I’ve taken to at least trying to do it on my runs. Not that they’re too easy without it but I liked the added challenge. I usually die on Act 4 unless my deck is basically insane but you unlock the next ascension either way.

Ugh. I was hoping Avengers game could kill a 3 day weekend but the reviews are pretty meh and it looks like I could beat it in a day. Not worth $60 for that imo.

Looks like I’m gonna try to beat crosscode. Anything great on the PS4 right now?

Newest Humble Bundle: Super Simulation Bundle

$1 - Treasure Hunter Simulator, 9-1-1 Operator
$8.45 (beat the average) - We. The Revolution, Elite Dangerous, theHunter: Call of the Wild, Radio Commander
$15 - PC Building Simulator, theHunter: Call of the Wild - Silver Ridge Peaks

I’m interested because of PC Building Simulator - looks kind of fun. It’s also on sale for $10 in the store, down to $8.49 for me since I subscribe to Humble Choice. Not sure if I should just buy it by itself. My son is interested in Elite Dangerous.

I have 9-1-1 Operator. It’s pretty decent fun for a while, certainly worth the $1 tier.

How the hell has there never been a main Assassin’s Creed game set in Asia? Feudal Japan would be like the most obviously obvious setting possible for the series. Instead we’re going to get… Vikings? The fuck?
