Video Games

Only on PC. Runs great on Xbox

Finally committed to it and beat XCom 2 Long War of the Chosen. I donā€™t want to know how many hours it took. I think I ended up with like 125 missions. Probably could have beat it a bit earlier.

I can now move on with my life.

Narrator: ā€œ6 months from now he started another campaign.ā€

Ugh, gotta do Uber Sirus to get it to drop, though. That fight is a mess.

Itā€™s my least favorite fight in the game. I canā€™t see shit!

And you canā€™t stand anywhere

I havenā€™t played that much since Sirus came out, but he and the mud fight are awful. At least the mud fight you can get enough DPS to one-phase him and skip the shit part.

Mud fight is getting fixed, at least. The mud isnā€™t going to hurt as much, and the bug where he can attack you while underground is fixed.

Callisto Protocol is scary and unsettling. Itā€™s kinda fucked up playing it for long periods of time.

From the Dead Space creators nice, I forgot about this one Iā€™ll put it on my list.

Midnight Suns has a ā€˜Press ā€˜Fā€™ to Pay Respectsā€™ in it. So far itā€™s ok verging on pretty good. The XCOM-ness is a bit overstated, at least in my opinion. XCOM felt like you were on a battlefield where this feels more like youā€™re on a chess board. Positioning, cover, range, etc were extremely important, whereas with Midnight Suns itā€™s mostly angles that are important.

Fun tidbit is that Magik complains that the Avengers donā€™t trust the X-Men which has been a long running thing. Oddly faithful to the comics is that you have to travel through limbo with Magikā€™s portals, even though in the game itā€™s a bit of a time waster to walk into a portal, walk on a magic road in limbo to another portal and then go through it. Otherwise it hasnā€™t really done the deep cuts I was expecting to see here and there.

I assume its fairly surface level since the main character is an OC.

Im not super far in, but I havent seen Logan yet and considering he is on the cover I keep expecting to, but I heard there was like a 5 hero roster cut before release. Did they cut out one of the cover guys?

I built a new computer 16 months ago, held off on buying a video card because they were so damn expensive, and the intel integrated graphics were good enough to play Xcom and random other low graphics stuff I play.

I bought a RX 6750 XT. I hadnā€™t put together a computer in probably a couple decades, so I didnā€™t realize I would need supplemental power running to it, rather than just the power in the card slot.

New Egg gave me the Callisto Protocol for free, so Iā€™ll try that out. And I bought Red Dead Redemption 2 because Iā€™ve heard so much good stuff about it. But, even with this new card, the thing I want to buy / play most is Dwarf Fortress, hah.

Does anyone know if Midnight Suns is mod-friendly? Iā€™m a big XCOM guy, but not a big Marvel guy. Iā€™ve watched some on Twitch, not sure itā€™s quite up my alley. I thought I might wait a bit and see if any modders make it even better.

Random dude went on stage with the Elden Ring team when they accepted their award. The final thank you:

Also, the Game Awards got AL PACINO to present an award.

I bought DF because of how much those developers have given to players over the years for free, knowing I probably wouldnā€™t like it. Couldnā€™t even get through the tutorial but I still think itā€™s really cool that this game finally exists on Steam.

This, while funny in isolation, sounded like a major dog whistle to me (didnā€™t watch your video, at work) - Clintons, Judaism :expressionless:

TGA is always fun if you like Video Games and can enjoy schadenfreude, Hozierā€™s song was pretty good - they get some other random famous people too. Daniel Craig had a pre-recorded video too.
