In college I took a course titled History through Video Games. We played Civ, Age of Empires, etc. and then had to do things like write about the empire we choose, discussing the accuracy of their representation in the game.
Free on Epic:
Total War: Warhammer
City of Brass
Either of those anything like Total War?
Turns out this is true. Damn it. There are many other games I want to play, but without building, I am suffering from major onemorematchitis. Lemme know if you ever want to squad up @dlk9s. My schedule is sporadic, but ya know how it is.
I’m BalkiBartokomous on Epic. I’m not particularly good at Fortnite (hence why the no-build is better), but I have fun. I have a very passive play style, which is great for top ten finishes. My son is aggressive - he prefers to jump into the action and if he dies, he can start again quickly. He also has better aim than I do.
By the way, is anyone here TopShotKing_21? I have a bunch of friend requests - some are from people on my Steam friends list, but that one seems like it could be a UPer.
Oh man, Balki is a great screen name. Ill have to see if I can add epic users from xbox.
Im like you by the way (I assume it comes witb being old) I like to scavenge and get a good build going before entering fights. This can take a long time and lead to high finishes but rarely wins.
So we got the kids, 4 and 6, a Switch since the oldest one played Super Mash Bros at a school event and loved it. Our goal is to give them some electronic entertainment other than YouTube and games we could play while on vacations and whatnot. I was thinking Mario Kart, and Pokémon games for the kids. My wife is semi interested in some kind of sports games and Mario Kart. I’m thinking those games plus maybe Breath of the Wild and Mario Party. And maybe Triangle Strategy for me.
Does that sound about right? Any other tips to get the most out of the Switch?
Is there a point of getting the Online pass? Is there a point of getting it for the family vs one person and just sharing?
Breath of the wild is a must have game
My kids are having a lot of fun with Snipper Clips
The Kirby and Yoshi games are aimed at younger kids usually.
4 and 6 might be too young, but Rocket League is a timeless classic that they can grow into.
I. Can’t. Wait.
Europa Universalis Complete Edition (incl. 32 DLCs) for 18€/20$.
They might be too advanced for it already but my 4-year old loves the Paw Patrol On a Roll game. It’s like the most basic platformer imaginable but if they’re into Paw Patrol they get to play as characters they know and they might appreciate the lack of risk (there’s no death or really much besides moving, jumping, and occasionally pushing one of the other buttons to make a special effect). We were playing New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe for a bit but it became too difficult for her after the first couple of levels.
The new Lego Star Wars game is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I ordered it on May 4, 2020. I’m convinced that a game experiencing two years of development delay is going to be terrible, but I’m trying to stay optimistic.
Its like the entire nonilogy right?
Yup. Early reviews actually seem promising?
The lego games are rarely bad, so no surprise there. They arr normally a lot of fun and have a lot of funny moments.
Have been playing a lot of Tetris Effect zone battles on the Switch and they’re loads of fun. I always thought I was a good player but the skill level and speed of the pro’s is just off the charts.
I’m super pysched about this. Admittedly adventure games were never my thing, I always get stuck somewhere. But Monkey Island is just incredibly nostalgic for me. We got a computer when I was 10 and I spent a few years on the original
