The first few rooms they tend to not have armor, and then they get it (The yellow bar) which makes them much more difficult.
Elysium took me a long time to get past. It reminds me of first getting to the womb in Isaac before unlocking like 80 % of the items and just getting torn to pieces before getting close to Mom’s heart.
In the butterfly room, they spawn as eyes which turn into Shield/Spear/Bow guys. If you kill them while they are still eyes, they don’t attack and have less HP, so they are much easier to kill off.
gotcha, once they turn into the archers it gets really bad.
Any other general tips from people? I think I have a fountain room unlocked in elysium now, beating the hydra consistently. I have the spear unlocked but not the glove looking thing, will have that soon. I do best with the bow as its easier shooting at distance than dodging all the attacks.
I feel like i should always get the calls when they come up as available right as they seem OP? Anything i should focus on with respect to boons and stuff? I have the hand trinket which gives me another death defied which seems pretty good. I can switch trinkets between chambers now.
The mirror changed and i can flip selections to other types now, are those better in general? Like death defied/death stubbornly defied allows once each chamber i think.
The non flipped mirror things are generally better than the green flipped ones, there’s a couple exceptions. I’d basically just google “hades best aspects” and put your blood into those in the S and A tiers, there’s a huge difference between good weapons and bad weapons so much that you just want to avoid them even with the 20% bonus. Also just bite the bullet and turn god mode on. TBH it should be on by default.
Look at you nerds and then look at me, a 45-year-old man who got hooked on Fortnite (honestly, I’m more obsessed with grinding the battle pass to get all the goodies).
Still can’t figure out how to build properly. Can’t even do a basic box quickly. The walls either end up two tiles away or I can’t place them at all. I’ve won 50+ games (non-ranked), but if I get to the end game against someone who can build, I’m toast.
Also, don’t know what it was like before this season, but the UFOs are terrible. Epic either needs to make it so humans can’t use them or you lose a lot more shield/health when you crash.
No, you can’t go wrong with a good strength build. I never do magic builds and did a dex build on one of my plays of DS2 but other than that exclusively strength builds with whatever the best armor I can equip while still fast rolling and some type of great sword or halberd, whatever your preference. In DS1 I mostly use the black knight halberd, DS2 I like to run the claymore, and DS3 I used the black knight greatsword.
Sorry but is god mode actually hell mode? Or is there a god mode.
Wait why are these minuses?
If you want to know the strategy to beat it:
Focus on Minotaur exclusively, much easier to deal with Theseus once he’s dead.
Also for new Hades players, the gatekeeper for whether or not you complete a run is mostly just the final boss battle, although there are difficult parts in both Elysium and the last level. Someone more experienced can correct me if that’s wrong as I haven’t done that many heats, maybe 6 or so.
For me I either die in the elysium early stages because I’ve gotten screwed badly build wise somehow, or it’s to the final boss. Actually the area right before the boss can be rough as well. There are some modifiers you can put on to ramp up the difficulty that make the non boss battles kind of a bitch.
Eta: the bull is easy to avoid while you are wrecking the dude with the shield, but the dude with the shield is a pain in the ass since he can throw his spear and summon gods. Also, since the Bull doesn’t really have ranged attack, he will usually be in close proximity while you are attacking the other guy and will take a lot of splash/incidental damage.
So you don’t like rogue-like/lite stuff in general or just Isaac? I actually don’t know a ton about Isaac because I could never get into it. I like how in Hades each run sort of builds on the next one and you’re constantly getting upgrades but I think the issue is that once you figure it out and get the right upgrades, the early heats become pretty trivial. Returnal progression is relatively much slower. Enter the Gungeon has one of my favorite systems because you’re constantly unlocking new gear and items but you don’t upgrade your character so basically increasing randomization of items while having to increase your skill to get further.
