Pretty sure it’s going to be a free upgrade for current owners but not 100% on that
Games never being finished and being updated for years sucks and has made the platform so much worse imo
So I start playing Dark Souls Remastered right? I read about this really powerful early sword called the Drake Sword you get by shooting the tail of a big ass dragon 20-30 times. I do this with no success, I figured hmm maybe I just didn’t do it enough but I ran out of arrows. Run all the way back to the merchant. Die like 4 times. Rinse repeat. Run out of arrows again…… run back and notice that I DONT HAVE THE FUCKING STAT REQUIREMENTS TO USE THE BOW EFFECTIVELY. Nice one, me. Level up, rinse, repeat, got it you stupid dragon.

I just finished DS3. I did more of a balanced build focusing on endurance. I used a quick sword juiced up to +10. I think I started with a katana then got a Lothric Knight sword or something like that. Then I can get really quick slashes in against bosses. My playstyle was mostly to dodge alot and quick slash everyone. Seeing people on youtube play with giant great swords like the FUGS is frustrating to watch how slow it is against fast enemies.

Just loaded the game. I started with a Broad Sword since it had good damage and you could swing it fast and eventually got it to Raw Broad Sword +10, but I later switched to a Lothric Sword and upgraded it to a Sharp Lothric Sword +10 and that’s what I beat the game with. I’m not an expert at this stuff, those are just the swords I liked.
Mail Breaker seems faster but it looks really short. The damage is kinda crap too. I guess I went for more damage based kinda normal swords rather than shorter quick ones. I never tried any of the twin swords that I picked up.
I have like a 100 swords from my playthrough. I kinda stuck to what I liked and after upgrading one, the others pale to that for stats.

Anyone have an opinion on the Steam Deck?
Seems a bit expensive for a handheld console.
New World closed beta started today. Not sure how it’s going to be yet. I barely got to level 20 in alpha. I logged in and created a character today and I must say that so far the movement and combat seems a lot smoother than it was last time I played. Not sure how much time I’ll put into it but probably will at least level to max at launch.
For the first time I am not looking forward to a new league of PoE. They are trying to battle power creep by nerfing literally everything while not dealing with the fundamental problems.
It’s basically a fully functional PC that had a handheld mode, though, at least once the dock comes out. I’m not too up on specs but my understanding is that the pricing is quite fair for a PC that also has a handheld mode, even if it might be a little underpowered (it does have 16GB of RAM, at least). Not interested in being the guinea pig for the release models, especially since I’m skeptical of the control layout, but if it pans out I could see it replacing my PC the next time I need an upgrade.
Did people in here play Nier Automata? I tried it a while back on my base PS4 and for some reason it never clicked with me. Decided to give it another go on my PS5 and loving it. The combat feels a little more button mashy than I’d like - the combat is almost too fast for it’s own good - but overall its definitely hitting the spot for me right now, between the story and the customization.

Zero percent surprised about Blizzard. Was actually in that guy’s guild in everquest in the late 90s, he was a toxic prick. Can’t believe they hired him after the way he behaved publicly. Thanks for the $10k I got after ebaying my crap though.
Did pick up dark souls 3 on sale for $15 for ps5 though! so I have that going for me as I’ve quit wow classic again.
