US Kills Soleimani in Airstrike

The implications are it is now going to be very very difficult to avoid a shooting war with Iran. And a shooting war with Iran is going to be fucking terrible. I don’t think people realize what an all out war with Iran would look like, both with their ability to conduct irregular warfare/terrorist strikes on the US mainland and with the fact that they have a legit armed forces and are not Iraq. For everyone who said that Trump wasn’t as bad as Bush because blah blah blah he didn’t get us into the Iraq war… This has the possibility of being far far worse. And it won’t just be Iranians who are killed.

My spicy take is we’re not going to see an all-out war with Iran, but they will be escalating their proxy war with us in Iraq. It’s a sort of miniature Vietnam.

Lol

Trump could end Iran in two shakes of a lamb’s tail. He’s not instituting the draft ffs or getting in a protracted ground war.

Trump will “bring everyone home” in Iraq now and spike the football.

GTO to have a madman calling the shots!

Luckily neither the Iranian regime nor the Trump regime are perfectly secure domestically. The people in power never care about the people they rule. They always have the stomach to cause suffering for the population of their country or another. It doesn’t really matter which. Sometimes it’s better if it’s the population of their country suffering and it doesn’t matter at all if the population of another country suffers. 1960s China or modern day North Korea could do just about anything, not because they were especially evil, but because they had/have an extraordinary grip on power. Iran’s government is in a fairly weak position and that’s why they can’t mine the Straights of Hormuz and further cripple their economy. That’s why they can’t engage in a protracted war with Israel. And as we know, whether or not the US population falls in line with Trump’s aggression or is really tired of 20 years of war in the ME is a major factor in whether or not we kill a million Iranians in the next few years.

There’s nothing more dangerous than a government where everyone gets along and the population just accepts the government’s expertise and mastery.

I always thought we could leave NATO esp after Turkey started doing its stuff. The US forces would move to Poland. Most polish dont want German troops on their soil anyway althoug both countries are in NATO. So if Russia would move west we always have Poland as a blocker. The next war wont be fought with conventional weapons anyway so Germany has nothing to offer anymore. I doubt we could still do the stuff we did in Yugoslavia. Technology advanced and most stuff we developed recently were mostly money sinks.

Iran has 4.8M people in its military (we only have 5.1M) many of whom are combat veterans who have faced us, Israel (lots of combat tours in Lebanon in the Iranian military), ISIS, and the Saudi’s. They have the latest military gadgets… and their people are now going to be pretty unified in opposition to us.

On our side 59% of the population thinks Trump has committed an impeachable offense.

If the Iranians internally consider a war with America to be inevitable it’s hard to imagine a better spot to take the fight. They’ll probably never get an opportunity this good. They basically have a blank check to attack us and the Saudi’s for the next 11 months after which they’ll get a free peace deal and we’ll probably apologize.

This is going to happen now I think. Very hard to avoid it here. We’re going five digits of KIA. This is a Ukraine level political fuckup by Trump… and for the US it could be the fall of the empire if we keep making the worst possible decision at inflection point.

It seems a bit crass to post jlawok.gif in response to that tweet, but who the hell does he think he’s fooling?

Tory MP Tom Tugendhat said there was a “pattern” from the current White House not to share details with its allies, which was a “matter of concern”.

The former chairman of the Commons Foreign Affairs Committee added: “I have long believed the purpose of having allies is so we can surprise our enemies, not each other.”

THE ASSASSINATIONS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL TENSIONS DECREASE!
