US Kills Soleimani in Airstrike

Geraldo is on Fox News yelling at people who think this was a thought out good idea.

That was true when Germany was the demarcation line between East and West. I think today it‘s mostly that it is centrally located as a hub for projecting power into the Middle East and North Africa. The infrastructure was already there and the US gets to have their bases in a stable allied democracy (cf. Turkey) without being so close to Russia that they might feel antagonized.

Yeah in my defense I really meant the Eurozone vs Russia. Also they don’t have much of a military because they’ve been depending on us to spend the money for their defense. If the EU spent 1.5% of gdp more on the military they’d be in the top 2-3 military powers on earth… and obv they could have nukes in a year if they wanted them.

It’s so Germany doesn’t get a real military.

The imminent attacks line is so clearly bullshit, looking forward to media sources across the US breathlessly reporting it. Like this dude was about to pop out of his car with a rocket launcher and kill a bunch of troops and then drive off like Grand Theft Auto?

I suppose they’ll be wanting us to believe that the wholly-untrustworthy “deep state” intel swamp people who are trying to eliminate Deals can be believed re the “imminent attack?”

Does Trump now realise that this dude was the Head of the Islamic and not just of Iranian forces…

Trump property will be targeted for ever in a day… The threat will never stop now that they have a name to attack.

Trump told his buddy Lindsay about the attacks but not the actual congressional members he was supposed to tell?

But how can we be sure those are not just grateful Iranians out in the street with roses in their hands looking for US troops to thank?

Somewhere, the Joker is scarfing down popcorn with a shit-eating grin on his face

At first I read that as ‘properly’.

If war were only heads of state and military and spy leaders getting assassinated that would be a big improvement.

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role for the poor, yeah

And I always thought that last line was: “they leave that peril to the poor, yeah”

Welp this is all the evidence I need

I did not immediately register that the assassination took place in Iraq.

We committed an act of war on the soil of a purported ally, Iraq, against Iraq’s definite ally, Iran. This is sure to kick up all kinds of grief from the Iraqis, with unpredictable outcome. This over an assassination that does not actually weaken Iran.

This does not make sense from the point of view of a rationally run imperium. I think we can chalk it up to the tawdriest opportunism of Drumpf, and neocon ideologues fixation on war with Iran.

I don’t know why, but I can’t see the replies. Looking for the inevitable debunking.

Looks like they are all running into a tent at the end of the street? Probably to get paid.

Unlikely they do this when there are a million retaliatory options that are better.

They also have to hedge their bets somewhat. If they are aggressive they have to calculate Trump wiping them off the planet equity.

The second they attack “our cyber” Trump will consult Barron and they will decide to scratch Iran off the map, like that time Barron got mad during a game of Risk.
