I would think about mostly ignoring policy and pushing for Dems who are more willing to fight everywhere.
Just because this is true:
It does not imply that this is true:
It’s actually possible to think you should bother contesting while at the same time not celebrating losses.
I like how he is a badass but nothing about being a cop or soldier or MMA fighter or how much he benches… He’s just a badass math teacher.
To be fair, that is clearly the most useful of the options listed.
I read the discussion before watching the ad, and I was expecting something actually controversial…. It’s definitely concerning if people think this is edgy or heterodox.
I can’t wait for a long-winded Alito opinion parsing the term “serving” to tell everyone that “serving” doesn’t actually mean holding office and the people that drafted it only meant that someone couldn’t be elected president and serve the people more than two terms. If they hold office and act only for themselves, they can be President as long as they want.
Slighted has it right imo. Authenticity is why Newscum would lose and lose hard.
Just be authentic in a charismatic way, i.e. the opposite of Hilldawg. BELIEVE IN SOMETHING. This is a key part of Trump’s appeal imo. The maggots truly believe he’s a racist scumbag like themselves! Which he is, only he will also directly work against their interests!
Walz would have people voting for him. Shapiro or Gavin pretty much just get people voting against the Republican.
The eDems do believe in things, but those things don’t have any pull with the electorate. They are the party of corporate culture, technocratic decision making, and stability/norms. These are not things that have an emotional hook for people - most people know that corporate culture is mostly bullshit, they don’t respect technocratic excellence, and only people that are already well off value stability and respect norms.
I think Alito would recognize - as many of us do - the Trump is hardly the same person he was in 2016.
Agreed, Waltz exudes authenticity. That’s why I used Gavin as an example. He’s the very definition of a slick eDem, and his podcast is even further proof.
I don’t agree with this, at least with respect to Shapiro. I think he could run an entire campaign on reopening I-95 after the bridge collapse in just 12 days. I think this is just restating Klein/Thompson from Abundance, but that effort illustrates that effective government doesn’t mean spending a lot of money or forming subcommittees or imposing complicated and unwanted regulations - it means getting important, tangible shit done efficiently. That’s an affirmative message that people can vote for, rather than just being less bad than the other guy.
(I’m not even sure I like Shapiro that much; I just think he’s got a more affirmative appeal than your post gives him credit for.)
Hi, Hillary. Fuck off forever.
We voted today in WI.
Democracy status: SAVED
You’re all still so goddamn obsessed with her. She makes a post saying go vote please and you’re still all mad. She hasn’t been relevant in anything since 2016 ffs. You all want the dems to move on to new leaders and everyone else already has except some people here.
Super deplorable Randy Fine still won in Florida by 14 points despite being massively out spent in a special election where only Democrats care. Doesn’t look promising.
