Waltz won the last election +30 in that district, plus there’s a glimmer of hope.
Very pleased with this result. Fuck off dipshits, thanks for wasting all that money
Can’t wait for Trump to bring his revenge tour against Wisconsin for voting against him.
Democrats should run on deporting Elon.
I am a card carrying hillary stan that disapproves of this post. I’m one of 6 people that read her book and still kept the dumbass views I had about some policies. she gets a certain type frothed up and she knows it and it isn’t helping anything. she made an establishment play (twice) and lost so just go away. plus you could argue the clinton/obama presidency was basically her foreign policy honestly, and much of obama’s foreign policy (which i think shes savvy on other than her absurd public views on the gaza situation).
much if her is a mechanation by the party. she is a literal party output, but probably genuinely believes some positions she’s held. that’s the lowest fucking bar. we shouldnt use her as an example
Hillary pretty clearly seems like she would be up there on the Mt. Rushmore of how we got here. Obama and Hillary on one side and Rupert Murdoch and Rush Limbaugh on the other. Absolutely zero sympathy for her. She hasn’t gotten enough hate imo.
also she threw the 2016 election and i will die believing if literally anyone had won that we wouldnt be here. she deserves any kind of spite for that, as well as the edem machine that let it happen. regardless, the seeds were sown long before that and she very much sowed them.
I wouldn’t say she threw the election. That would suggest she wanted to lose, which I don’t believe is true. It’s fine to say she ran a horrible campaign, though.
Actually incredibly promising.
Republicans won by 14 points in districts in Florida that Trump won by THIRTY (30) or more.
This was a success for Dems! We need to stop thinking that a loss is a failure without looking at the actual numbers. Otherwise, people would never bother to even try.
Overperforming by 16+ points is a success.
Building campaign infrastructure in red districts is a success.
Building a base of volunteers for next cycle is a success.
These candidates laid the first brick in a foundation that we must rebuild in order to flip anything. It won’t be this year or maybe even next, but if we don’t count chipping away at Republican advantages as a success, then we will never flip them.
I hope Dems don’t take this week as a lesson that they just need to stay the course and let Republicans implode. Democrats need to have more than just being not-Republicans.
seems like they just do better in these special elections probably because low info voters are less likely to vote? i just feel like if this is an actual real election it is back to 30 points.
Real election with Trump is +30. Real election with generic Republican might be somewhere in between.
It feels like Democrats just love pouring money into these Florida/Texas elections that they can’t win as a part of their Washington Generals strategy.
This feels like the kind of comment one hears a lot until a D finally binks a semi-longshot race and then suddenly it’s, “See, that’s the kind of race Dems should be supporting.”
i knocked doors for her and have told this story before but she punted resources because she thought the race was unloseable, and my story is that despite my service i got my hillary 2016 bumper sticker (that I’ve placed in an undisclosed location that will never be found long after i die) the day after she lost. The comey shit was whatever, russian interference was whatever, she could have countered it if not for hubris. I will not forgive that, and she should just fuck off. respectfully.
I can’t help but feel a tiny bit of hope that the strong margin of victory for Crawford is an indication that Elon is sinking Trump and the Republicans.
The three good guys I’m maddest at in the last decade are probably HRC, RBG, and Grandpa Joe.
hes gone in may and it’ll be memory holed
No need to be respectful about it.
