russian ministry announced yesterday that PVO (anti-air weapons) were suppressed. oops. vlad the poisoner is not going to be happy
I’m repeating what’s being said on TV and from decent sources on Twitter. This seems to be the thread for that.
Last night a few of us were LOL’d at for saying it was the beginning of a full scale invasion.

This guy is a NatSec reporter for Foreign Policy, so he’s not some random.
they were supposed to have soviet S-300P, supplied by russia of course. it looked like their missiles last night were targeting known locations.
of course, it’s kind of dumb, USA knows everything russian forces are going to do, they’ve tracked them for months already. they are for sure communicating with VSU about far more than what biden says to the public. yeah, russia should have been overwhelming, but so far, it’s dumpsterfire.
what’s more interesting, russia is moving in with their own newer PVO S-400 and Pancir. because those PVO are protecting the battle group. i’m not saying those will take out russian own assaults, but the way this is going, i wouldn’t be surprised some of those didn’t get captured by VSU.
new information is that russians have advanced towards Zaporozh’e, which i didn’t see as a target yesterday. dead and wounded among border guards there.

I want to believe.
CNN reporter in Ukraine saying that video was a Ukrainian plane downed by Russian anti aircraft missiles within Ukraine. Jeez. Source was Ukrainian interior ministry.
i could shoot a handgun in the air at a missile and be engaging it
Maybe this is just semantics, but Ukraine may be “engaging” incoming cruise missiles, but they are not “intercepting” them, unless they get incredibly lucky.
yeah i remember it at the time
Meanwhile earlier the Ukrainian Interior Ministry was claiming they downed a Russian plane with their anti-aircraft defenses. Was it the same CNN reporter who talked to the Russian troops today and asked them where the Russian troops were, thinking he was talking to Ukrainians? Maybe he got it lost in translation.
not clear why there would be a ukranian plane at this time over kyiv.
Interesting thread although funny he draws the parallel to Saddam post Kuwait, like … yeah great Putin will be Coup’d in 12 years!
You’d think morale would have to be plummet quickly among the Russian army. I mean they might be really nationalist, more knowledgeable people than me I’m sure can weigh in on that.
Maybe they’ve gotten incredibly lucky a few times, maybe the reporting is bad, or maybe they have better capabilities than was publicly known.
Probably on account of the war I’d imagine
