Ukraine, Russia, and the West

i think the prevailing theory is that the oligarchs are mostly way ahead of the game in this. like for instance Roman Abramovich is an israeli citizen now, so he would i assume lean heavily on that to prevent the UK from seizing his considerable amount of his Putin wealth.

This, from a guy who advocates for engagement, is a pretty grim assessment.

The single ruling party of the UK is almost entirely funded by russian money

Yeah this is the US’ fault!

And now you blame the mods for your posting. So much similarity.

Stop the stupid drama.

Putin already said what he wants to do. This is not a mystery.

Yeah. That is not to say there wont be further developments if/when this is accomplished, but Putin literally wrote a manifesto calling for (forced) unification of what he views as historical Russia, and made this required reading for all members of the military.

Seems like a pretty easy problem to solve if you want to given we know who these fuckers are by name. The actual problem is the Western elite are greedy pig whores.

According to my friend who lives in Germany, they are the only country making any real sacrifice so far, by shutting down some pipeline.

Not really. I suspect it’s asymmetric. Not many football fans would reward a party they don’t like - they’d just celebrate. Plus Chelsea’s biggest enemy are West Ham, not the two you mentioned.

Moldova closed its airspace. Already taking in Ukrainian refugees.

Germany gets about a third of its oil and gas from Russia.

He meant economic sacrifices as far as sanctions, and it was posted a couple of days ago.

How long would it take to restart some nuclear reactors?

Well it’s good they have a head start I guess.

Should countries taking in Ukrainians refugees be concerned about pro-Russian fifth columnists coming into their countries?

Even more questionable is the Russia-Poland WCQ in Moscow next month, although I expect FIFA will be much less likely to do anything about that.
