Whoever ask why bomb this ship? Well it seems to have stopped any unloading at the dock for now, not to mention the fuel and supplies destroyed. This dock has been resupplying the forces sieging Mariupol.
Also there was a video on Russian TV of this exact dock circulating for a day before the attack.

Prior to recent events, I had no idea that the term for seizing property in Russian is “to arrest”, same as for a person. I’ll let others decide if there is any deeper psychological aspect to that.
“Arresting” ships is a thing in English as well.
The reason the Russian lieutenants weren’t preparing for war is the Kremlin wanted to maintain the element of surprise. Didn’t do them much good.
