the total might 4 now. but they probably still have 10-15.

And of course, even if all of this turns out in around the best possible way, there’s going to be a line forming to join NATO, which is going to have the potential of triggering a new round of invasions.

These bombs can destroy everything within 8 miles of it. thats just unfathomable. imagine willingly working on building one of those things.

The concern is that Putin went from seeming like an evil but calculating dictatorial monster a few weeks ago to bordering on an insane supervillain this week. Hitting civilian ships from other countries, hitting a series of hospitals, all the residential areas, etc, all while knowing it’s being covered in the news the world over. There’s a devil may care attitude all of a sudden, and it changes all of the calculus.

I haven’t seen this confirmed by a reliable source yet. Seems like absolute madness to send out paratroopers when the airspace is contested.

In case anyone is curious, there are in fact people who are essenttially “pro” invasion, and they are posting on r/russia.

WaPo has cited US Intel sources who believe it. It’s interesting that we haven’t seen video of the crash site, though that might be because Russia is holding it.
