At the very least a country on the security council shouldn’t have veto power on an issue theyre in

apparently they have zero plan outside of take kyiv by monday doing it the dumbest way possible

this decade has been unreal and there’s 8 years of it to go

This is probably the dumbest question possible, but what does “taking Kyiv” mean in practice, and what does it achieve? Is it code for deposing/killing Zelensky, or something else?

Maybe the shit decade is 2015-2025 and we’re almost through it

Probably capture Zelensky or force him to go elsewhere. Winning symbolic battles is important.

Like to a gulag? I can’t imagine they plan on sending him on an all inclusive holiday to Mallorca.

Lviv probably good enough.

So if he was elsewhere now, would they still be attacking Kyiv, or chasing after him? Sorry, I know jack shit about wars.

They would still want Kyiv because taking it would mean destroying Ukrainian forces protecting it. Whatever reserves Ukraine has that aren’t pinned down are being moved there.

Mrs. Putin:

From rally in Salt Lake today. Roughly a hundred or so people there but I got there late. 100x more than a couple of days ago when it was just the one lady.

might as well sign it for historical records. petition to impeach putin.

This is contrary to American interests.

This depends on a lot. The first being the NATO bureaucracies. Some will be fast, some won’t. Then you have to fly them to Poland or load them onto Ukrainian transports. I don’t know whether Ukraine has functioning airlift capability, though they do have airports including the main Kyiv commercial airport, if they can avoid Russian MIGs. If they have to go by land, I’m not aware of army units in Western Ukraine and Kyiv is mostly cut off from the west. They might have to let civilians use the weapons.
