Ukraine, Russia, and the West

So, is the 630b war chest useless because of sanctions and they can’t prop up ruble?

Planting the dirty bomb in Belarus makes the most sense for Putin. The apartment buildings were some kind of ethnic minorities I believe.

they are not regular, lukashenko has been in power longer than putin.

sorry yes. rub is going to be junk on monday. might as well light some weed with it. sanctions are going to feel a lot worse because the reserve currency will have a very long way of getting to the payee.

russian fakes are out that a rocket hit a radioactive storage facility. UA is denying this information. meant to cause a panic.

Lukashenko has been in power since 1992, the only leader Belarus has had after the fall of the Soviet Union.

oh man, this might be the end of an era. with sanctions and turbulent times ahead for russia and roskosmos, it may be years before the korolev design is going to fly again.

On the one hand it kind of LOL that these people are doing a 180, on the other hand it is amazing that rats are jumping off the ship so quickly. Like I try not to feel overly optimistic about Ukraine not only winning but this ending Putin’s career as a global antagonist, and then signs like these happens and get me all worked up

we definitely need to plan ahead. after putin, russia will need to be off sec council, hopefully with severely limited weapons and army. denuclearize if the west is in position to force it.

The comments are golden too

As a long term, if we could learn the lessons what not to do from the Yelstin era and Russia could somehow be turned into a prosperous western facing non-facist democracy it would solve so many of the world’s problems. Pretty much hopeless, I know, but a man should dream
