He responded to a couple of questions about it in a press conference too, but it wasn’t any better. He didn’t take any responsibility for past support of Putin and he literally reference “both sides” instead of acknowledging this is solely the responsibility of Russia.
Zhirinovsky in an induced coma. earlier speculation was he may have had covid. the dude was often on russian tv advocating annexing 80% of ukraine. he used to cut cakes in the shape of UA. pretty much all of deranged putin’s speech about ukraine not being a country is straight out of Zhir’s mouth over the years.

IIRC during the Chechnya debacle he said something like “our 18 year olds are dying in battle with smiles on their faces”. There’s a special spot in hell for that guy.

Probably comes out better in the original Russian. In the original version the spy gets dropped off in the mountains somewhere in, ironically enough, Ukraine, IIRC, and the first farmer he comes across greets him as “hello, spy”. That was just the first version I managed to google up.

Except it’s not a racist joke, it’s a joke about Americans being dumb. But fine, I should have known that any joke that has any racial element to it would probably get that reaction round here. That’s me being dumb.

That’s not justification. My point is - if you’re afraid of a madman using nukes because you stop him from taking over a sovereign nation under basically zero pretext, then what’s to stop his next move from just threatening to nuke a nation out of the blue? It’s basically the same thing.
