How does NATO get equipment into Ukraine with Russian troops surrounding the country and airports, bridges, etc., being blown up or supposedly taken?
Russia only controls the Eastern borders. A convoy of trucks is supposedly driving in from Poland now.

This seems immensely unwise. If we were willing to risk war to save the Ukraine, it would have been a lot more effective to station some troops there last month.
This doesn’t seem to flow logically, just because something should have been done before doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be done now.

Well if they don’t get at least some sort of symbolic victory he can claim out of this it will severly damage him at home.
Which hopefully makes some kind of negotiated settlement that both sides are content with more likely.
Hell of a way to reach it though.

My friend (who isn’t too tuned in to global politics) theorized that Putin is terminally ill, sees this as his best chance to take Ukraine, and doesn’t give a fuck if the whole world dies in a nuclear war because he’s not long for it anyway.
Sure seems like Putin has very few fucks to give, whatever the reason.
I was thinking along similar lines, but less that he’s terminally ill and more that he’s about to turn 70, this is his life’s goal, and he thinks it’s his best opportunity and is willing to risk his last ~15 years of life expectancy to go for it.
maybe its secret cancer, but honestly putin looks healthier than an average healthy 69yo russian.
