bah! echolocation photos of moskva turned out to be very fake

Mysterious explosions in Transnistria, a breakaway Russian-controlled territory in Moldova bordering on Ukraine, have raised fears that the Ukraine conflict may be spreading.

Separatist authorities said Ukrainian “infiltrators” were responsible. But Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has blamed Russian special services.

Russia says it is concerned. It has about 1,500 troops in Transnistria.

An official has said Russian speakers in Moldova are being oppressed.

This is the same excuse used to justify the invasion of Ukraine.

What a shocker.

I wonder if we’ve reached the 3rd level - where Ukraine might pull a false false flag to render actual future Russian false flags less effective.

They should have had them wave a swastika flag to make it more believable.

The Transnistria thing doesn’t make a lot of sense. No one seems to believe the Russians can take Odessa or complete their land bridge to Transnistria with the currently available forces. Maybe Putin is just trying to increase anxiety about widening the war; he might need something to spice up his continuing nuclear threats.

But if Putin is serious about taking the coast, something happening here might serve as a pretext to do a general mobilization. Cancel the May 9 parade and start screaming about the existential threat to Russia from NATO and the imminent danger to their independence-seeking friends in Transnistria. Doesn’t really work in my mind, but then I’m not Putin.

Bumbling incompetence seems to be a pretty good explanation for everything Russia does.

odessa is most definitely a misdirection by the kremlin. they mention it as a capture target, whereas in reality they are simply bombing it for logistics and strategic value. just like lviv, which they also have no way of capturing.

transnistria is a way to mobilize more troops and conscripts into the conflict. the staffing levels are getting very low. dnr/lnr are running out of 50 year olds now. they are sometimes making boys under 17 prove that they are.

incompetence isn’t a bug, it’s a feature of corruption

i had the Pravda beer brewed here at Chainline Brewery in PNW. every little bit helps.

TIL there’s a ukrainian-born republican representative from indiana. the amount on contortion she has to do in interviews deflecting from trmp and onto pelosi is a complete shit sandwich.

Thread describing potential escalation by Putin. Sadly it doesn’t seem too far fetched
