“We have 10 times fewer losses than those of the armed forces of Ukraine,” he noted, citing a ratio that could not be independently confirmed.
He almost certainly means since the start of Ukraine’s counteroffensive. I suppose if I were sufficiently motivated I could ignore that.
why does it make sense to you if ukraine were warned not to do it?
Don’t see how that’s relevant to the question of motivation. Russia damaging their own infrastructure never really made sense to me, nor did the US committing an extremely escalatory act for very dubious national benefit. Ukraine obviously want to hurt Russia and obviously don’t care about escalation, they’re being invaded already.
