Trump isn't trying to seize power

No, because I don’t think Trump is delusional and he’d have to be to actually think that he could remain in power.

Rants for weeks based on belief that it is not conceivable Trump could be delusional and no possible evidence could prove this belief wrong… this is your brain on Greedy Glenn…

Well I think he is delusional, and your argument that he isn’t rests solely on some sort of psychic soul-read that you have, as all of his actions are consistent with him being delusional. I also don’t think this read of yours has batted well over the last few days at predicting his actions going forward. There have also been endless reports over the last few days that Trump is, quote, “unstable, ranting and raving” and that he is incapable of talking about anything but election fraud.

Edit: I also think delusion is the entirely predictable response when you let someone as monumentally narcissistic as Trump become President and then tell him that he lost.

That’s fine? Why in the world do you give a shit that my opinion of Trump’s level of delusion differs from your own?

Well I think that your opinion is at odds with obvious facts. And this is a discussion forum where we argue with people when we feel that their opinions are at odds with reality.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and has a very strange explosive penis (google it), it’s a most likely a rabbit doing the kayfabe

It doesn’t seem like a particularly meaningful disagreement. What’s the significance at this point?

It’s only a coup if it works ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Because folks like you downplayed a threat that lead to the Capitol being sacked? You are a nobody troll but are clearly parroting crap you gobble up from Greedy Glenn spewing this shit to a large audience.

Right

Like as I’ve said before, the difficulty with drawing lines to demarcate Trump’s behaviour with regard to representation vs underlying reality is that he himself frequently doesn’t distinguish these things.

Oh, so it turns out Trump is actually a mastermind after all and is playing 16-d chess? yeahok.gif

Honestly seems pretty straightforward to me. Will Trump’s contentious conversation with his political adversaries make the papers? Probably.

Spoiled white elitist faces consequence - the whining will reach ear-splitting decibels.

What I’m trying to figure out is, when considering the question “why would Trump threaten Pence with bad consequences if he doesn’t try to overturn the election results”, the answer “because he sincerely wants Pence to overturn the election results” should be considered unreasonable. Like on Occam’s Razor grounds it seems very odd to instead accept the proposition that this meeting which, per CNN, “lasted hours” was instead an elaborate ruse to keep up the kayfabe when news of this meeting gets leaked to the media. This presumably is necessary because Trump supporters famously believe everything they read in the mainstream press leaked from anonymous sources?

As far as I can tell, your not accepting the simple explanation rests entirely on a religious belief that the President cannot be incredibly stupid and incredibly delusional, which leads me to wonder what you’ve been watching the last 4 years.

This is before we get to questioning the bit where asking the VP to assist in overturning election results is an unreasonable tactic when we have pro-Trump protestors storming the Capitol building and 121 GOP House members voting to throw out Arizona’s electoral votes. On a scale of progress towards a coup where coup achieved is 10, this is hardly a zero.

Like the MAGAs, SK has been completely taken by a delusional narcissist that will say and do anything to destroy his enemies and just parrots whatever he says no matter what.

Grifting Glenn is SK’s God and he will never betray him no matter how ridiculous he appears to non-believers.

It’s unreasonable because it’s totally unhinged. It has no possibility of success. I suppose it’s a reasonable explanation if you think Trump is a raving lunatic with no grasp on reality, but that’s not how I see Trump.

Religious belief? I don’t think Trump is delusional exactly because I’ve watched him. I don’t think he’s stupid. He’s not a genius or even smart but he does have one skill that he’s quite good at, manipulating the media. If you’ve come to a different conclusion, that’s fine. It doesn’t actually make any difference at all at this point. Other than lowering Trump’s culpability for fomenting a seditious riot, since how can a deluded moron be wholly responsible for his actions?

I don’t think Greenwald has commented on the subject of this thread at all. Not sure what you’re talking about.
