Trump Administration Part 2

Anyone who still thinks America is not heading to a true fascist state is too stupid to take seriously. I’d move the chances of Trump serving a third term to better than 50% at this point.

All 4 of those institutions being kicked out sure got rewarded for all the sanewashing they did last year.

This is mostly just good persuasive technique that happens to be targeted at someone who isn’t you.

1 of those is not like the other 3.

Are you willing to commit violence for what’s right? Because much of this behavior is humans trying everything except violence.

No, they didn’t. The democrats aren’t fighting hard enough, but they aren’t the ones doing this nor did they help.

Fascism isn’t here because Obama was civil at a funeral ffs

Hint since you seem unable to see the obvious. The dems aren’t fighting at all.

We will probably get better journalism out of the ousted outlets, at least. /sweetsummerchild

This seems not great

I think the tarrifs get resolved quickly. Canada and the Donald will have a talk, Canada will make some inconsequential concession. The reality TV, wanna be dictator will tell the world he is a master negotiate r and remind us how lucky we are that he is our President and then he will get back to dismantling the government.

Since the election, “fighting” meant realizing that Trump is not only a “fascist” (Turkey, Israel, India and other countries are currently lead by “fascists”) but would be such a historically awful fascist of catastrophic proportions that Civil War, with all the bloodshed and destruction that certainly entails, was/is justified rather than handing over power after an election Trump won fair and square.

Anything short of that just is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. As played, Trump has awesome powers that cannot be stopped by anyone/thing other than, maybe, a supermajority of Congress.

their voters have given up and checked out, the people online who are mad at them will never vote for them regardless and hate them more than they do trump.

rest is they’re quite limited as they have no majority federally

also trump is actually more popular than dems are

This is true overall but you can’t really zoom into one interaction and use it as emblematic of everything. That just makes politics like wrestling where heels and faces can never been seen together in any way but oppositional.

and a judiciary that took their jobs seriously. A lot of this stuff is obviously against the law but a pliant Congress and judiciary means you can get away with a lot.

Boy, I thought I was prepared mentally and emotionally for this shit, having an idea of what was coming and yet I still find myself overwhelmed and afraid. I’m consuming much less Trump this time around but I’m not able to just plug my ears and close my eyes. Jesus Christ

Who gives a flying fuck if they will be voted for. The fucking house if burning down. The very fact that a decision to grab a hose is predicated on if they will get votes in 2 years is precisely why Trump is so easily ending democracy in America.

I’d certainly take the no third term side of a bet. I think actuarial table-wise, just random 78yo, is like 20% to die in those 4 years anyway.

Name me one thing anyone is going to stop him? (Don’t say filing a lawsuit).

There’s also too many fronts, they gotta just pick one and hammer it but people in the real world aren’t outraged by anything he’s actually doing to figure out what.
