Trump Administration Part 2

To torture them and shit, ldo

Depends on the country you’re in and also your physical condition.

The reality is that unless you live in a city with adequate public transport, you need a car (yes even in Europe).

Doesn’t make RFK Jr’s views on food any less misguided. There’s plenty of processed junk being consumed on the regular in Europe.

There’s nowhere in Milan where you need to walk 2.5 miles to get a decent plate of pasta. There’s a lot to knock Milan for (polluted, shitty traffic, kind of cold people) but cuisine ain’t it.

To be honest, I’d probably take the tram if I had to travel 2.5 miles in Milan though. Traffic is kind of nuts there by European standards.

30k capacity is probably a Biden era estimate. They will be reviewing those standards presently.

So this is basically exactly what we expected, outrageous quotes and announcements and LOOK OVER HERE trolling while they loot the country.

I waa being ignorant and grabbing a random Italian city out of my head

Can you imagine the contracts the Trump Torture Team ™ can get from the federal government?

The statements and reporting on this are clear as mud, but my guess is that this will be used as a facility to hold people that we plan to deport, but there might be something stopping an immediate deportation. Examples I can think of include detainees who are appealing their deportation through the immigration courts or maybe folks from a country that doesn’t have a resettlement agreement with the US.

My overall read is that they think they’re going to need more capacity for a variety of reasons, so they’re just building up space wherever they can. And they like military bases b/c it seems tough and Congress will basically always cut a blank check for military spending.

Senior Justice Department officials under President Trump have held discussions with federal prosecutors in Manhattan about the possibility of dropping their corruption case against Mayor Eric Adams of New York, according to five people with knowledge of the matter.

The officials have also spoken to Mr. Adams’s defense team since Mr. Trump took office, the people said. The defense team is led by Alex Spiro, who is also the personal lawyer for Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and one of the president’s closest advisers.

Corruption is kind of the glue holding everything together. Which I guess to be fair is how the old Democratic system held so many disparate coalitions together

Officially dropped the charges against the other folks in the documents case.

So, now that they’re out of legal jeopardy, we can read the second part of the Smith report, right? Right?

Do they have showers there?

At what point does the US locking up Mexican citizens in torture camps for indeterminate amounts of time become a problem for the Mexican government?

Countdown to Adams changing parties?

Aggregate that Nate

I haven’t watched this but I trust he’s making a good faith effort to get as close as possible to a real number:

To be honest, he also thinks the new Chinese AI could be a fake so there is that…

Trump shakes down Zuck

Meta Platforms has agreed to pay roughly $25 million to settle a 2021 lawsuit that President Trump brought against the company and its CEO after the social-media platform suspended his accounts following the attack on the U.S. Capitol that year, according to people familiar with the agreement.
