While I think the dementia angle is overstated a bit (IIRC people were swearing he was six months away from drooling in a corner halfway through his first term, and here he is), I do think he’s gonna be in no condition to run again in four years, he’ll be old and exhausted as fuck even if he just ages normally for a fat speed/diet coke addict.
And assuming he gets the adulation he wants from his base for being the best president ever, I could see him wanting to ride off into the sunset and giving zero fucks about who succeeds him. He even might get a kick out of Vance or whoever getting waxed (“Ha ha see what happens when I’m not on the ticket? What a bunch of losers, peace out”).

I actually don’t think that Trump really has any enemies at this point. All the court cases are dead now. The Democrats had the option of putting Trump in prison after Jan 6th and they decided that they would rather fundraise & run against him in 2024.
I don’t expect him to make a big deal out of the 2020 election. He knows he lost and his huge victory in 2024 negates it. Bringing up the stolen election now is pointless & embarrassing. I don’t expect a huge investigation into “what happened in 2020” but we’ll see.

Governor of ND for Sec. of Interior seems like a pretty standard appointment for a Republican President, not some clown show appointment. Just more opening up of federal lands for energy development.
Just think of the ad campaign though! Trump says it is time for everyone to start exercising and we pull back to see he is on a golf course carrying his own clubs! Then we cut to an ambulance driving over the green to get to a collapsed Trump who raises his hand and says “damn you simp!” before collapsing. It could really work!
Putting it this way makes one wonder if the '21 Dems thought that nominating Trump would be a massive own goal for Republicans, allowing Biden to cruise to reelection in '24. No way they’re clever enough to hatch a scheme like that, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the idea crossed their minds as the whole thing was going down.
