Trump will be undermining the legislative and judicial branches as much as possible. It’s fascism 101. All power resides in one man.
He is already doing it by asking them to recess so he can simply appoint the whole cabinet without any hearings or oversight.
It’s not really optimism. Trump is putting incompetent people in places in which they can’t have success. It’s like making me the GM of the Yankees.
The upside to RFK Jr. is that he doesn’t seem to really be a grifter or even purposefully malevolent. His animating desire to take 20 years of the life expectancy of Americans just seems to be a reflection of him being a genuinely unintelligent person unfit for independent living. I expect he will get 60 votes on confirmation.

The problem with your argument is your are judging competence incorrectly. His cabinet doesn’t need to understand anything about how their department works. Their competence is100% measured on how likely they are to do whatever Trump wants. On that measure it might be the most competent cabinet in American history.

Their competence is measured on their ability to DELIVER what Trump wants and I’m not sure about that. Trump likes sycophants and these people may be ass kissers but they have their own ambitions and are going to piss Trump off. It’s going to be a shit show.

Again this is only true if trump wants to “get things done”. He doesn’t give one fuck about policy or getting shit done. He cares about one thing. Himself.
All he cares about is cementing his power and money. Every decision the executive branch will be doing from Jan forward will be to further that single goal.
He doesn’t care how many people are deported for example.
He has been given total immunity from SCOTUS and has a cult following.
There are no rails. None.
If anyone wants action, I’m legitimately willing to bet on some of this stuff in terms of how far America will become a fascist state. I think people are woefully underestimating this likelihood.

The SC just had a major ruling in this last year that strips govt agencies of a lot of power to enforce regulation. That’s the good news, the bad news is probably everything will be done through executive order and the SC will come up with some dumb shit justifications as to why the president is a king. If these guys arent stooges or patsies their job will be to dismantle the federal govt’s ability to govern. it’s gg. Good job founding fathers. all efforts should be directed into resistance and sabotage for whatever emerges after this inevitably falls apart at the seams or there is another civil war.

I lean hard WAAF in general but a lot of the shit I was saying in the last 2 years that people laughed at me for in multiple forums is not so funny anymore. I’d love to be wrong because the odds are overwhelming I’m on some kind of watch list. I personally dgaf and won’t cower behind anonymity or dumb ineffective safeguards like private forums. Anonymity is a myth anyway. I personally lean we wont see gulags in this presidency but drawing live 10-15 years. I hope to be well out of the country by then. I think covert police harassment enabled by the insanely invasive privacy crisis in this country will be the most likely immediate route.
