Trans Issues In Sports/Society

All of them. Sports should be a robot only endeavor.

Wait, isnā€™t this exactly where this whole thing started in the other thread? Wtf?!

I need a quicker pony

Is QG Klansky or who is it?

The problem is that trans women have an athletic advantage over cis women.

Ok, so what other athletic advantages should we exclude from sports?

Naah, just the ones that let us bully the out-group kids. Pretty much says it all right there.

How about we just make it illegal to separate sports by gender and just have one sports league? I mean who cares about girls/women when some people identify as the opposite sex? Or how about a compromise, all women who identify as men can play menā€™s sports? Obviously, there is no other option because the fundamental right to participate in sports as oneā€™s chosen gender trumps all other human rights. (Even though my desire to participate in competitive soccer was waylaid by my lack of soccer ability.)

Seriously, Iā€™m all for trans rights, and even making some accommodations for trans people, because I am extremely liberal. What you guys are doing is picking a terrible hill to die on and then dying on it with shitty arguments, which is why fucking Trump is distracting people from the fact that he is the most unfit presidential candidate ever by telling people that if Kamala is elected then your vision will become law, which freaks everyone the out.

We do want all women who identify as men to be able to compete in mens sports. Wtf are you talking about?

Maybe its not the worst thing in the world to let a couple hundred (thats an estimate that I think is much higher than is actual but lets roll with it) trans women be able to compete in sports, Simp. Why is it that WE are the ones you are claiming is dying on the hill and not the psychos who insist on gential checks to keep the scary trans out of their sports?

???

You mean trans men? Trans men are men.

I mean, itā€™s not like Kamala is running ads in favor of Trans rights, just like Trump isnā€™t running ads saying we should have a national abortion ban, even though some supporters of each would favor this. As a political matter, Iā€™d be fine with her throwing some trans people under the bus Sister Soulja style. Just compare Trump on abortion: ā€œEveryone wanted to leave it up to the states!ā€ Kamala should probably say, ā€œNo one wants trans athletes playing against females!ā€ (Then there could be a more nuanced discussion down the road at the local level for edge cases, which is where the issue belongs.)

Some accomadations, huh? Kinda like how we did with gay folk? Which accomodations can trans people not have?

If someone has an XY chromosome Iā€™m not on board with ā€œtrans men are men.ā€ Itā€™s an ideological slogan. I realize there are debatable edge cases, but I do not think identity is the final word on the subject.

I think people should be able to use whatever bathroom they prefer and be able to marry whoever they want. Like most people, I donā€™t think someone who is indistinguishable from a biological male in lab tests should be able to compete in womenā€™s sports.

Nah man, the problem is that youā€™re trying to inject a scientific argument into a linguistic one.

XY chromosomes donā€™t say the word ā€œmanā€ on them anywhere. Thatā€™s a word that people made up to describe certain people. As our understanding evolves, language changes, but if you donā€™t want to come along for the ride that doesnā€™t make it wrong. It makes you backwards.

Realizing that there are even exceptions to the below

men = people who identify as men
cis men = XY people who identify as men
trans men = XX people who identify as men

Again there are edge case exceptions to the above which Iā€™m just leaving out for the sake of brevity. This terminology is much more precise than the traditional use of ā€œmenā€. However, in any case itā€™s just a linguistic convention. The scientific argument is separate.

But donā€™t worry. You can still adopt the term cis man and trans man and be as bigoted as you care to be.

Thats what weā€™ve been discussing this whole fucking time. Transwomen on hormone therapy are not ā€œindistinguishable from a biological male in lab tests.ā€

But lets assume they are for a second. Youre talking about lab tests. Should that be a requirement for high school sports going forward? Whoā€™s going to pay for it? Taxpayers? Parents? Give me just a little bit of the logistics for how you do the separations for high school sports.

I assure you that trans women can absolutely be distinguished from cis men in lab tests. So what are we even arguing about?

How about we not let the couple hundred compete in sports and then treat them equally in everything else? Seems like a good solution that gives trans people 90% of what they want.

Cool, what ten percent of shit can we take away from cis people? Shouldnt be a problem, right?

Hey guys how about we just treat them a little bit like second class citizens.

Signed a super liberal dude.
