Is a cis male a bigot for not being attracted to a trans woman?
I would say that is true more than sometimes. It doesnât make what Riverman said in that post false.
I donât see why this has to be true. I donât think eDems embracing the issue will make it a winning issue.
Dems might be able to get away with being strong supporters of trans rights, but I think they will be hammered if they are perceived as prioritizing trans rights. In a world where many people are results-oriented, that means Dems would take a hit if they advanced trans rights in concrete ways without also being seen to achieve concrete results in other areas such as health care, jobs, or climate change.
If we embrace the metaphor of political capital, then itâs bad to be seen spending limit currency on something that many Democratic voter either donât care that much about or actively oppose.
This mirrors the Ukraine debate between people who think itâs more important to save Ukrainian lives vs those who think it is more important to prevent nuclear armageddon.
This post is not meant to endorse either side.
Based on a quick google the average height of an NFL player is 6â2" and that puts them in the 96th percentile of height for American males.
The thread title change really exempliflies the absolute irony of some of these takes.
How many women post in this forum?
How many people of color post in this forum?
I think FDR made the right choice to prioritize passing the New Deal over advancing civil rights.

Iâm cis-phillic. No kink shaming!
Many of these disappear or at least lessen after transitioning, which is why most sports bodies that are high level and trans inclusive do have certain requirements about how long you have to have been on hormone therapy. Obviously not everything disappears, either, e.g., itâs not that hard to see that a trans female looks kinda male-ish in her face even years after being on female hormones, unless sheâs had surgery specifically to address this. Not everything about having had a male puberty is an advantage after transitioning. To a certain degree, trans women may be dealing with a bigger frame but not the corresponding musculature. There isnât a ton of data about exactly what lingers and how much at this point, but you can check out the article linked article for a bit more information.
Sure - but NFL players are freakishly big. So height is kind of a secondary characteristic of just being a massive human being.
Itâs like saying weighing 250 lbs is needed to play in the NBA. Well no - itâs just how much muscled 6â8 people tend to weigh.
None of this changes the fact that your chances of NFL success are higher if youâre 6â2" than if you are 5â9".
in this thread, we label the labels we put on labels, and then act surprised when we canât get along with reality
Tell your kid to git gud fucking scrub
Just to clarify, Riverman made his post in the low content thread, and it got moved to this thread.
Youâre saying this based on⌠what⌠you thought about it for a second? Sports associations which allow trans athletes at the higher levels have typically sought in depth advice from medical professionals.
On the other hand we have 15 different versions of âI dont know much, but nonetheless i have strong opinions, and you know what, maybe the deplorables threatening to jail parents of trans kids are actually right on this specific issue?â
Sorry Iâm still not getting it and I know that Trans women are women. Sugar Ray Leonard would have been beaten by an average heavyweight of his era. Heavyweights have an advantage in boxing. Why isnât the question of Trans women against Cis women like weight classes in boxing? Also this issue seems like there are two competing interestsâTrans women being integrated completely into the society and Cis women getting fair competition.
Sigh⌠and your data set of trans women in sport you know about is⌠what? Examples in the press that have burbled up from the right wing rage-osphere?
Would you consider that this may not be either a complete or a representative sample?
Maybe you should take that up with the trolls on social media who keep getting mad about a trans woman in 2014 in MMA who didnt even win all her fights. Write them a letter, Iâm sure when they realise that they are creating a biased picture in the mind of lazy ass men who cant be bother to educate themselves further, they will reconsider their approach.
This is an actual example of where the right answer (yes) is actually too politically toxic and we should stay away from it. Because we should be focused on keeping trans kids alive not fighting every battle at the bleeding edge of trans rights.
Allowing trans kids to play sports, with everything that entails, is 100% smack bang in the middle of the âkeep kids aliveâ category though. Which is why I get so fucking irate with the hot takes in this thread.
