I donāt think big-name stars have participated in it much since the Vince Carter days, although my timeline may be off. There was that year when Blake jumped over the Kia I guess. Itās turned into more a showcase for young guys, so youāll sometimes get a top draft pick in there. Iām a sad Knicks fan so rooting for Obi.
Dwight Howard is the last big name I remember participating.

The judging has been mostly awful yeah.
The Mitchell thing makes sense, feels like itās often a lot of mid to late lottery guys or second year players.
How long have they been doing the dunk contest at halftime of the AS game? Itās much better this way.
That Lebron never entered a dunk contest and Zion is unlikely too is such a letdown.
