Tom Cruise Only Fans

Ok let’s try this again with good old fashioned multiple choice. I had ChatGPT sort by box office and then grouped 1st, 4th, 7th in one group, 2nd, 5th, 8th in another group and 3rd, 6th, 9th in the 3rd group. At least it’s not grouping all the early iconic Cruise movies in the same group.

Top 5 in each group advance to the final.

Goddammit. Of course this method came up with a massively stacked group and a shit group. I give up.

Ok we’ll have 5 wildcards in the final that we vote on from the best of the also-rans.

I just want to note that I do love Magnolia, but it is in no way a “Tom Cruise Movie” so I left it off my ballot.

EDIT: Ditto Tropic Thunder

Top Gun did more to make him into a star, but I would rather rewatch Maverick.

I guess for me Top Gun is just a lot more fun. Just the campiness and it coming out when I was just out of high school. I’m sure I’ll rewatch Maverick some time, but I haven’t yet since I saw it in the theater. Meantime I’ll rewatch Top Gun pretty much any time it’s on.

Taps being slept on. Love that movie.

Taps filmed here in the township. Had cadets from the military academy (where it was filmed) doing some volunteer work at the historical society just yesterday.

Lots of locals were-or at least claim to be- in the movie as extras or in background.

Damn that last group is stacked, i could barely pick 5 from the each of the first two

Don’t get me wrong, I loved Maverick. A lot. But so much of that was because of nostalgia. So I cannot imagine putting Maverick above Top Gun.

When my friends and I were sophomores in high school, in the dark days before the internet, we purchased a porno tape from a magazine ad. In order to conceal its identity I put a label on it that said “Top Gun” but the way I wrote the “G” made it look like “Top Bun”. And then when it was one guy’s turn with the tape he “lost” it. We saw you then and we see you now, Erik Davis.
