As promised I did see this one. Verdict: it’s great. Better than the last one. The first act drags and is weighed down by excessive exposition and nods to the past, but once it picks up it sustains a great pace until the end. Obviously if you are concerned about plausibility this is not the franchise for you but that should go without saying.

Final Reckoning was fantastic, especially as a cap to rewatching them all in order. They are all great!!! Except MI:2, you can go sit in timeout

They were all very concerned about society collapsing or something once The Entity was defeated, did that not happen because The Entity was captured instead of destroyed?
yeah, it would DESTROY CYBERSPACE (lol) if it was destroyed, so they had to SUCK IT IN to the hard drive thingy at the same time they uploaded the VERY BAD VIRUS to it. Don’t ask me why that works because who the fuck knows, it’s all just macguffins for ACTION and FRIENDSHIP

MI2 definitely doesn’t have the quality of anything else in the series, however I really enjoy it as long as it’s been long enough for me to forget everything that happens. So like twenty years.

Nothing topped the Langley heist from the original for me. And there was a lot of competition.

I believe it was “Tom Cruise Fans Only” when I changed it. Briefly considered “Tom Cruise OnlyFans” but thought it was too on the nose. Maybe “Tom Cruise: Only Fans” or “Tom Cruise FansOnly”?

I like those rankings but I put Ghost Protocol at the top. It was the same experience as when Fast Five showed a surprisingly bright future for all ongoing entries. Just follow the formula and people will show up.
