Tilted's Walrus - Reveal Time

See above comment about famous leg kicks. This gets me even though I don’t really like the vocals.

a lot of Jamiroquai’s shit is a lot more about the feel and not the vocals. Glad you enjoyed.

Whiskey submission number 2! Better than the first but not even in the same universe as the final one. Definitely had this feeling walking out of a casino at 2 AM with a busted roll and a couple whiskeys in me.

In 3rd place with 8 points:

Love the theme match, hate the vocals, love everything else about the song. We go down to Kentucky lake every year and drink moonshine with our family rednecks so I totally get this. Really dislike the vocals, but I looked past it.

A Bob Marley song paired with rum seemed like a no brainer for this category. You went safe and it worked. Can’t come close to disliking the song and I’ll probably be listening to it while sitting on the beach with a rum drink in about 6 hours.

Our winner and it really wasn’t even close:

You absolutely 100% nailed the spirit of the category here. I could feel myself walking down a dark alley after a night out with this blasting. The abrasiveness of the horns and even the song title “Ripped Open by Metal Explosions” is perfect. Bravo you probably deserve more points than 10 with how far the gap was between the other 9 entries.

Thanks to everyone for playing along with me. I had a great time doing this!

In a world of millions of potential whiskey and tequila songs out there, it pays to submit a rum exemplar.

Everyone please tag yourself on the last two categories so Funcrusher can do the final scoring. I’m Mazzy Star and Whiskeytown. Lol at anyone who finishes behind me.

Mine was Rory. I love this song. This was also my Joker for scoring purposes.

eta: I’m guessing funcrusher won again.

Mine were Simon and Garfunkel and Nickel Creek.

From nodium to podium. LOL

Also, the point of vocals in a bluegrass song is so drunk people can sit around and all sing them, that’s why they are simple. If it’s Chris Thile that you can’t stand…well then you’re lost and cannot be redeemed :stuck_out_tongue:

Love the song! What liquor does it represent though?

I was Chartreuse and the 1 point before.

Most likely, and it immediately hits you if you do so, as this stuff has 55% alcohol. I was lucky enough to visit the Chartreuse distillery as part of a conference event some years ago, and at the end of the tour they serve you a glass with a big ice cube. After half a glass I approached the conference chair and proposed to do some joint EU project with the monks brewing this stuff .

The Galt McDermot track was whisky.

Really? It sounds more like someone talking to you after you had too much Jägermeister.

I could tell, and I liked it a lot.

I owe $50 to a charity of your choosing.

I think it captures a pretty heavy drunkedness well enough it could be any hard liquor.

However, I do think it has the brute strength of a good whisky buzz. From tough willy to a rare scotch.

Wow. 3-7 was close!
