No one can ever be cooler than Lost Boys sax guy.
The actual fuck? Ellington may have done different arrangements of this song with different instrumentation as he frequently did with most of his songs, but this recording clearly features clarinet and saxophone

This song was made for this category. Terrific pick with tons of woodwind throughout. I donāt really have much to say about this except Iāll be jamming to this when Iām 4 Mai Taiās in on the beach in a week. My wife is going to hate it.
Fif woodwind players

Another incredible 80s jam. This song made me unbelievably happy and I did a deep dive on the band who seem super underrated. I wasnāt sure if the accordion was a woodwind but I consulted the internetās best expert to see.
According to āAccordion Tomā at http://www.accordiontom.com/what-type-of-instrument-is-an-accordion/ it is indeed technically a woodwind instrument.
Love the song and the message along with the accordion paired with the synth. Bravo pick.
I wasnāt sure man. A site with the .edu ending told me otherwise. I was told to believe the educational sites over wikipedia. Blame the education system in bumfuck nowhere Missouri.
If it makes you feel any better that was one of my favorite submissions! I warned everyone this was going to be a shitshow.
Anyone not using a Miles Davis track has no right to complain.
Do you know what a woodwind sounds like? I mean, Iād find it more believable that you would just shit on the song than try to get me to believe that you listened to the song and are convinced that multiple woodwind solos are actually a trumpet and a piano.
I was unsure - googled it - read trumpet and believed them! I listened to each song fully 3 times so I guess that just makes me a moron.
Category 4 has excellent potential. "A song with a verse that makes you goā¦ āwait, what?ā
Iāll be doing a first listen tomorrow.
And then you invalidate my pick because you got information on the acoustic remix :-p
This was mine. Tanita was so underappreciated.
funny story: I almost went with The The. Either way, Iām so glad to see the younguns discovering the greatness of 80ās post punk and new wave.
Shit, Running Up That Hill by the queen Kate Bush is #1 in the country right now. Fucking amazing.
also, 4th place is 7 points, right?
Jesus. Iām terrible at this. Sec.

I messed up the submissions but this was correct. The crescendo at 2:06 was phenomenal. Really beautiful and powerful song.
All submissions are now up and points are correct. Sorry for the error.
I got Miles Davis as both solidly overrated and not a woodwind player. I did consider submitting Coltraneās My Favorite Things, but I probably would have been nixed anyway because Julie Andrews is not a woodwind.
Shit, I was scrolling down in the thread and not seeing my song and not seeing my songā¦.and not seeing my songā¦and I thought I won, and then, wait wtf.
