I’m not sure what your point is, all I know is that my position is Johnny’s position

I had no point, was just trying to do a dumb Big Lebowski reference

Obviously you’re not a golfer

Here’s my quick, imperfect and completely pointless ranking of what I’ve watched. They are magnificent.

The Big Lebowski
Fargo
Blood Simple
The Hudsucker Proxy
No Country for Old Men
Inside Llewellyn Davis
Barton Fink
Miller’s Crossing
Raising Arizona

Burn After Reading
Bad Santa
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
A Serious Man
Hail Caesar
True Grit
Gambit
The Man Who Wasn’t There
Bridge of Spies
Intolerable Cruelty
The Ladykillers

(I really don’t know why I’ve not watch Buster Scruggs yet)

I’m a massive fan of the Coen brothers, in fact the only film of theirs I didn’t really enjoy is the Ladykillers.

The main film I disagree with others on is Intolerable Cruelty, I’ve rewatched it many times and always find it absolutely hilarious. i think I am pretty much word perfect at this point

Lol that is a pretty good line

And yet Ladykillers was ALMOST bad enough for me to decide lol these frauds

Intolerable Cruelty is great. George Clooney being absurd is delightful, and I’ll always show up for Catherine Zeta.

Raising Arizona is one of the funniest movies ever made. And one of the most quotable.

Miller’s Crossing is probably my second favorite but maybe only because I’ve seen it so many times.

I didn’t really like Barton Fink but I really can’t say why. Maybe I need to see it again.

A few years ago a film critic at The Atlantic watched all 16 movies in 16 days and wrote about each. Good stuff especially if you’re an obsessive fan.

Disclaimer: the author is an acquaintance whom I knew in the late 80s-early 90s, and I can attest he was already a huge fan even back then.

Why am I surprised that such handsome and intelligent men and women are ranking “Miller’s Crossing” so high? I really enjoyed that movie, but I usually find that others did not think much of it.

Gale: All right, ya hayseeds, it’s a stick-up. Everybody freeze. Everybody down on the ground.
Feisty Hayseed: Well, which is it, young feller? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? Mean to say, if’n I freeze, I can’t rightly drop. And if’n I drop, I’m a-gonna be in motion. You see…
Gale: Shut up!
Feisty Hayseed: Okay then.
Gale: Everybody down on the ground!
Evelle: Y’all can just forget that part about freezin’ now.

GOAT.

To this day, whenever somebody (even on TV) says something self-contradictory, my automatic response is “Well which is it, young feller?”
