So happy we live in a world with apparently zero punishment or enforcement mechanism for any political crimes

My guess is that the California Rs want Ds to bring a “voter suppression” suit here so that when the Supreme Court throws out crucial WI, PA and MI D votes they can also throw out these CA votes and say that they are throwing out votes for BOTH SIDES.

Yeah it’s something super insidious for sure.

Yeah it’s definitely an attempt at both sidesing the shit they are going to pull elsewhere.

WTF is this shit?

I’m reasonably sure that .png files do not have a dpi and the file was extremely high resolution.

Switching to .jpg made it work, but this did delay me for a couple weeks because I got distracted and it timed out the first time I registered.

The PNG-standard specifies an optional header with the DPI. In the PNG file two 4-byte numbers gives the pixels per meter og the width and height, which can be converted to DPI by multiplying with 0.0254 meters/inch.

Lol, sounds like they did some kind of conversion and forgot to round up. Computers man.

Wouldn’t the correct play be to just let the boxes remain? Seems highly unlikely they make the difference. Thinking about it strategically this is a freeroll for Rs that makes sense. Even with the unique ballot harvesting laws pointed out many voters won’t make it past the both sides argument.

I feel like the GOP is just playing themselves. The boxes seem to be in “GOP locations,” so there is really only downside to collecting them like that. The ballots are still filled out and sealed by the intended voters, so there isn’t any funny business there, but there is now added risk that something will happen to them.

Surprise, surprise. Three counties with 3 of the largest cities in Iowa.

“Technical problems with the paperwork” means the ballot request form went out with a voter’s name and birthdate printed on it.

If it’s not an official ballot box that might be illegal, does that mean it’s not some sort of election crime if you dump a bunch of water in it?

It makes voting for Republicans more convenient which should increase turnout. There shouldn’t be two sets of rules for Reps and Dems.

On July 15, a civil rights group formed by Black union workers called on the Ohio secretary of state to make voting amid the pandemic easier and safer. It advocated placing multiple secure ballot drop boxes in counties across the state.

When a deputy to Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose received the A. Philip Randolph Institute’s press release, he responded quickly — but not to the group. Instead, according to records obtained by ProPublica, the deputy contacted the Heritage Foundation’s Hans von Spakovsky, a leading advocate for the discredited argument that American elections are tainted by widespread voting fraud.

There had to be some coordination of all this voting suppression. Good to know it’s the Heritage Foundation that’s involved

Good to hear.

I can’t tell how bad this is.
