The TSLA Market / Economy

Has anyone posed the question: “If companies could make their shareholders richer by splitting the stock, then why doesn’t this happen every single day to every single company?”

Something something dilution

It’s tulips, all the way down.

If you ask a question like that in the gme sub (superstonk), they ban you for spreading FUD and being an undercover shill for the hedgies.

Ah but see not every stock is being subjected to “short ladder attacks”, naked shorting, and various CRIMES by the hedgies, so an AAPL splividend wouldn’t have the same effect. This splividend was supposed to make shorts provide the new shares (unclear how) and cover their shorts. And since apes believe they’ve “locked up the float”, they’d have been able to name any price for the shares being sold back to the shorts. The entire stock market was supposed to collapse under the weight of MOASS and apes were to emerge billionaires on top of the rubble.

The correct way to ask that is : how long should they wait before doing another split?

At this point I’m starting to be convinced that Cramer’s real job is to help hedges unload their bags of shit on CNBC viewers.

Like someone should start a fund to just short everything Cramer touts.

Well it worked with Wood, seems like those guys should just start this fund too. One problem is the weighting of each position. Woods plays come with sizes. Cramer is just clicking buttons .

Just get some software that logs arm movements and volume and the louder he is and the more he flails his arms around, the bigger the short position.

Ooof. My company got acquired this morning. Gotta love the uncertainty that comes along with that bundle of fun. As long as I don’t get screwed on my bonus that vests in 2 years I don’t really care what happens.

Good luck - hopefully if anything happens to you the bonus will get paid out in full! Is there any language in what you signed about change of control? I’ve had a couple RSU situations that were handled quite differently due to the nature of the separation.

Nothing. Thankfully it vests equally over 3 years. 1 of which is already completed so I am guaranteed some equity on it.

RSUs often vest immediately upon a change of control. Good luck!

It’s not an RSU. Just a “please don’t leave” bonus in a deferred investment account. I don’t anticipate getting fucked but this is corporate America!

Interesting. So you don’t have access to it until you stay for that long?

Stressful. The company I work for was sold last week, or at least the announcement of sale went out. Supposedly no changes in the works but …

I have access to the full amount in an investment account. I can invest any amount in the offered index funds. It vests equally over 3 years with full distribution via payroll at the end of the period.

Glad we get to sweat together! I’m cautiously optimistic, but who knows. Good luck to you as well.

The good part about an M&A is that things usually move pretty slowly. Especially if the companies are publicly traded. You’ll likely have many months from now until anything happens, so I think it’s always a good idea to make a plan, update the resume, start networking, etc., etc., so you feel prepared should anything happen.

With walmart stating today that they’re going to have some issues (which is a major sugar coat, imo) in selling a lot of their products that have been piling up when their customers don’t have any money left once they do their food run combined with 100k meme investors having an epiphany that stock splits didn’t actually mean you were magically giving a 4 to 1 opportunity on their investment strategy means that we could be going red for a while. Walmart was atrocious and that should ripple everywhere.

Economy bad → Fed easing up and lower earnings from bad economy, Lower earnings → stunks

Economy good → inflation continues → fed keeps going → stunks

Supply chain issues resolve → inflation resolves → fed eases → stonks (if economy good)
