hmm… seems like he put up tens of millions of his own money to invest in electric cars when everyone else thought it was a bad investment. i guess electric cars would have still happened if he never got involved but his involvement does seem to have benefits for the environment/society/tech.
With TSLA stock dropping, do we have an update on how low it needs to go for Musk to not be able to complete the Twitter deal?
Looks like first thing I could find thought if TSLA goes below $750 it becomes a problem.

I think the equity coinvestments he got replaced a lot of the margin loan, so this is probably not an issue anymore.

His internet is a major factor in saving Ukraine. Tesla has made big increases in EV. SpaceX is useful.

Agree, Musk has the same off putting narcissism as Trump, but he actually is advancing important causes with his businesses while Trump is stiffing drywallers who worked on casinos. There’s no comparison who is and should be more hateable.

What if he’s not doing this though. What if he’s just a total bullshitter who has actually held progress back because millions of people with a vested interest in climate change and “saving the world” became isolated epic bacon twitter/reddit stans for a moron and called it a day rather than doing something collective and productive in the pursuit of climate justice?
What if the trillions of dollars he has tricked out of delusional people desperate for a saviour that have ballooned the “value” of tesla vastly beyond it’s actual worth instead went to numerous local and national level coordinated ecological campaigns created and run by people who actually give a fuck and understand things? Rather than a single person who spends their time “inventing” submarines that don’t work and underground deathtrap traffic jams. He isn’t advancing anything expect his own ego. He compares favourably to trump of course, not least because it’s unlikely that he’s an admitted rapist and child sex offender, but what a bar to set.
